I hope you have a super time at your lunch...!! Please post about your experience as we are booked on this in about 8 weeks and we are ALL excited...!! :artist: Here's hoping you have a super interesting imagineer...

have fun..!! :)

Congrats, congrats, congrats! :) I'm excited for you! We'll be trying to book this for June! Once again, congrats especially on short notice.

Congrats ! We did this in Aug. '07, mainly because our DS, 16, is obsessed with becoming an Imagineer ! There were 4 of us, myself, DW, DD,10, and my DS. We met with Kevin James who is a senior graphic designer. My DW was thrilled, cuz she is also a graphic designer. Even my DD at age 10 said that it was one of her favorites things that we did. Have fun !! :thumbsup2

This whole trip has been a last minute kind of a thing. Corey surprised me and said to just go and do it just a few short weeks ago. I had originally dreamed of doing this itinerary, but I was told that there were no spots left, so I planned an entirely different experience that I was happy enough with, but I just decided to call again this evening and it was open! I had to cancel three other ADR's in order to adopt this "new"/original schedule but I am so stinkin' happy! I can't wait!

Aww good for you!!!!! Have fun!

Congratulation on your getting Lunch with an Imagineer. DW and I have wanted to do this to. We will be at WDW in May so when our 60 days where out DW got up before 7am. She called and was able to get us ADR for it also:dance3: So we are doing a happy dance also.

I will post a review here for sure! I am glad that I was able to get through yesterday. I can only imagine what the phone lines have been like today with all of the FD ADR's! :scared1:

Well... it's lunch with one of the Disney Imagineers

"Walt Disney Imagineering is the master planning, creative development, design, engineering, production, project management, and research and development arm of The Walt Disney Company and its affiliates. Representing more than 150 disciplines, its talented corps of Imagineers is responsible for the creation of Disney resorts, theme parks and attractions, hotels, water parks, real estate developments, regional entertainment venues, cruise ships and new media technology projects."

I thought I'd add that in case you didn't know what an imagineer is...

Anyways... you get to sit down and eat and chat with one of the many wonderful people who are behind the magic.

Oh... and that's so exciting that you got it!
I don't know if I would enjoy it, because I'm not exactly a talkative or inquisitive person, so I think it would be wasted on me.

Maybe on the next trip I plan with my mom I'll try to get it as a surprise for her, she's very interested in people... I think it's possible that that's the reason I'm not... I've always had my mom around to be interested in things...

Oh, this was fun! I really enjoyed it. Upon check in, I was given a Guest of Honor styled name tag with my name on it....be sure that whatever name you give at the time of the reservation is the name that you want on the tag! The tag says Dining with an Imagineer WDW and has Mickey Mouse on it. After everyone arrived, we were given a quick tour of the HBD and were then lead to the Bamboo Room. We were introduced to our Imagineer, Senior Graphic Designer, Debra Wren. She was really great about discussing anything and everything that we brought up, including things like the incorporation of Disney characters into IaSW out in DL, Beastly Kingdom, Night Kingdom, and the like. We didn't always get the most detailed answers, but we got answers, some of which actually surprised me with the level of detail that we did get. If you are a Disney geek, it's so worth it. Even the Disney clueless that were more there for the great meal, seemed to have had a great time. She worked hard to include everyone. At the end we were given these beautiful glass plates with Sorcerer Mickey done in gold and they were each personalized and signed by Ms. Wren before she left. We also received personalized menus. Our meal was excellent. I would do this again in a heartbeat, if ever I go on another solo trip.

Our menu is below.....

Appetizers
Mushroom Bisque with Sherry Vinegar Gastrique and Truffle Creme Fraiche
Individual Cobb Salad (my favorite part of the meal)
Entrees
Grilled Rib Eye Steak with Arugula, Crispy Sweet Onions, Goronzola, Red Bliss Potatoes, and Oven Dried Tomato Vinaigrette
Thai Noodle Bowl with Barbecue Breast of Chicken, Sugar Peas, Bok Choy, and Shiitake Mushrooms in a Red Curry Broth
Pan Fired Halibut with Yellow Squash, Haricots Verts, Roma Tomato Preserve, and Citrus Juices (my choice and the squash was to die for)
Dessert
Grapefruit Cake
Beverages
Coffee, Tea, and Non-alcoholic Beverages

Ah, yes! About ten days before my LwaI reservation, a very nice Cast Member called me to confirm that my name on my reservation was spelled correctly! Brief history: My mom decided, you don't pronounce the "h", there's no reason to spell the name that way.

That sounds fun. Hope you had a great time.

when are you gonna tell us everything you learned about???
