What are the hours? Ie when does it become dinner versus lunch? Reservations needed as much for lunch or 'off' hours? Specifically thinking of either Cafe Orleans or Blue Bayou. I could not find hours listed anywhere easy to find.
Thx!

Ok, forget the question about hours- there is a small box under the check availability box that lists hours for lunch vs dinner...somehow i didn't see it...
Still would like to know if we can just walk up the week before Christmas or should I reserve and do I need to do it 30 days prior or 60?
thx

If you know you want to eat somewhere, it always best to make a Priority Seating. You do not need to stress about doing it on day 60, you can usually get something a few days in advance, maybe not your ideal time but still get a table.

We were there two weeks before Christmas last year (most kids were not out on break yet) and it was BUSY!! As in the CM's were talking about it going close to capacity.... With that in mind and knowing it will be even busier a week later and with the 60th I would say make a ressie if you feel strongly about eating there. Is it possible especially during off times, sure- if you will be upset if you don't eat there due to waits or they won't take walk ups then make a ressie. You can probably make one closer to the time then 60 days but again it's how much you want to chance not eating there.

We always at least make sure we have a ressie for dinner. Once upon a time I didn't and we couldn't get in anywhere and had to wait in a CS line for an hour for a mediocre burger. Never again! :)

Reserve! Reserve! And do the Blue Bayou Fantasmic package while you're at it. My biggest reasons for the Blue Bayou is because it's NOT Cafe Orleans, which has (IME) chilly seating environment and slow service. We always visit during mid-December and the nights are chilly enough to cool food down fast, and Cafe Orleans has limited indoor seating. But then it's always drafty inside too and the kitchen takes forever. If you need to eat there, go in the daytime when it's warmer. Meh, I sound like an old person. lol

While getting reservations at DLR are generally fairly easy, I would still highly recommend making a reservation if you know you want to eat a specific place and/or specific time. The Blue Bayou almost always turns away walk-ups, regardless of the time. That is probably the hardest restaurant in DL to walk-up to. Cafe Orleans is a bit more hit-or-miss, but lately, whenever I've been there, they haven't been taking walk-ups. (Same for Carnation Cafe.) So I would make a reservation to be safe once you know when you want to eat.
