I will be using the vacation kingdom vouchers next month and I have a couple of questions about using the vouchers in particular restaurants.

LeCellar: I read a couple of posts that the restaurant was NOT allowing an appetizer with the childrens voucher even though it clearly states that a child can order an appetizer, childrens meal, drink, and dessert.
Has anyone used a childs voucher here with no problems, or what have been your experiences been?

Alfredos: Can you get the Stuzzicarolo appitizer with the voucher(it says it serves 2 and I know sometimes they won't let you get the larger appetizers with the voucher)

We will also be using them at Rainforest Cafe.

I plan on using 2 childs and 1 adults voucher per meal for 3 adults and 2 children. I figured We can all split 2 appetizers, the kids get their own meals and desserts, use the 3rd appetizer as a meal, split the adult meal and pay cash for addition drinks and an addition entree if needed
Any comments??

We used 2 vouchers at ESPN for the 4 of us. 1 adult and 1 child and we had plenty of food.

We used 3 vouchers at Alfredo's for the 4 of us. 1 adult and 2 children and we almost had too much food:D

We've shared one adult voucher among 2 adults, but I'm not sure if you will have enough food to share this way..or at least "grown-up" food. I'm especially thinking of the Rain Forest. Don't you have to pick from the children's menu when using the vouchers? I've not seen anyone post this combination before..where 3 adults would be sharing (at least in the eyes of the restrauant). In this case scenerio, what would stop someone with a light appetite, to save money, to only buy the children's lunch vouchers, and eat at someplace where they don't have a children's menu (or maybe all places do) and ordering at the children's prices? Just thinking out loud, because I wonder if you will be embarassed, when you show the vouchers, if anything is said.

I know that 1 voucher for 3 adults will not be enought, so I figured that DH could order an additional entree and drink and just pay cash for his.

This trip started with just me, DM, DD,DS and so I thought 2 childrens vouchers and 1 adults voucher would be enought for the four of us( Mom and I can share) . Then I felt bad that DH would be home alone and so he is joining us for the 2nd half of our trip. I could just buy a couple of vouchers more but that might be too much food.

What do you think should I buy a couple more vouchers??
What about the previous questions, anyone know about these restaurants?(LeCellar & Alfredios)

Just curious, has anyone used them at Teppanyaki? I one adult voucher enough for 1 adult and 1 child (girl age 10). Will they let you share there?

I actually posted about LeCellier not allowing the appetizer etc for my dd. My SIL just returned on thursday, and she told me she had the same experience.

Wow, How can LeCellar not let you get a appetizer when it says it on the voucher?
I have to use the vouchers for lunch when we are at WDW and am now wondering if we should go to LeCellar. If they don't let the kids get an appitizer, than it is not worth using the voucher there. (That would be a Bummer:( - I was sooo looking forward to eating there, I've heard so much about it)

Any other experiences out there?????

We were one adult and two kids. We used two vouchers, one adult, one child and could NOT eat all the food. We got two appetizers, the kids got the mini cheeseburgers to split, I got the seafood pasta and then two desserts. It was alot of food, as the appetizers were good sized and the entree was huge. And the desserts were huge also.

I found that I told the server when they came to take our drink order that I had the vouchers they would explain how they worked at their restaurant. That way, I was never embarassed thinking I could use them for something only to find out I could not after the fact.

Ther servers were usually really helpful about us getting the most possible for them. Worked really well and was super easy.

Have fun!

Jennifer

At LeCellier's they will not let kids with lunch vouchers get an appitizer because it is not offer on the kids menu. We paid cash for DD kids meal at LeCellier rather than waste an expensive voucher on very little food. Defiantly still go to LeCellier! It is a great restaurant. Use the kids vouchers elsewhere. Have a great time!

The problem is we only have 3 days for lunch in the park and we currently have 3 VK adult vouchers and 6 VK child vouchers(in addition to 6 Q&C vouchers), so I need to use the 1 adult and 2 child vouchers each day for lunch or risk going over my budget. I figured I would buy the vouchers so the meals would be prepaid. Even thought I was stretching my budget, I thought it would be worth it if we could goto the nice restaurants we always wanted to go to.

Anyother problems with getting an appetizer with a child's voucher at other restaurants??

vcasey- I used the 2 adult vk vouchers(for 2 adults) at Teppanyaki last year. We paid cash for the kids. My son is very picky so I didn't order him a meal, he shared with me and they didn't charge for an extra bowl of rice for him.
Anyone else know?

When we traveled with my mom, we did this at Alfredo's and the Concourse Steakhouse.

At Alfredo's we had the Stuzzicarolo (which is huge - the waiter saw our voucher and told us to get it), a version of Trittico di Pasta (which sometimes changes - we added veal to ours, and it was included with voucher), 1 liter of Pellegrino, and the dessert specialty they offered that day. My mom ordered a side salad, so that is the only extra needed to pay.

At the Concourse, we ordered the Chilled Marinated Shrimp, 16 oz. T-bone Steak, a soda and dessert. I ordered a salad, my mom had soup, both had water. So we paid another $10.

My mom is not a big eater, so I don't know if this would be enough food for everyone, but we were full.

What are vacation kingdom vouchers? Are they similar to the Connections vouchers? Where can you buy them?

They are available from connections, 29.50 ea.
