Lunch Time Suggestions

If you have not been to Blue Bayou, I would try to eat there once for lunch. Once you have been once, though, it is not necessary to go back often (IMO). Favorite in DCA is Wine Trattoria -- it is a very relaxing place for lunch. Everything I tried there was great. I could go there again and again.

We are here now. Just had lunch for the first time at Cafe Orleans. Monte cristo, pomme frites, gumbo soup and beignets for us all to share. Yum! Love this place! Last year we ate at the Blue Bayou and also got the monte cristo sandwich. Both great places to eat at.
That is one of our favorite places. We get those things minus the Monte Cristo. That is plenty of food for the two of us.

I am DYING to go to DLR. I have a trip planned late October, but don't want to wait.

Since I live in SF, I'm seriously thinking of flying down one morning, and flying back that night!

I was thinking Labor Day Monday, since I will buy a Deluxe AP and that day doesn't appear to be blocked.

How busy will it be?

I thought about doing the Welcome to Disneyland tour so I can at least get a few open FPs to ride in the afternoon when things get busy, and I know they do priority seating to Aladdin.

The earliest flight would arrive around 8:30 (SNA) and the latest flight leaves at 7:55. I assume I'd need to leave the park at 5:30 or 6.

What do you guys think? Have I lost my mind??:hyper:

That seems like a pretty small window of time. I know I couldn't do it because I'd want more time. Also, flights tend to get delayed and it would be bad if your morning flight got even later. The least amount of time I personally would want to do is one full day with the day before and day after as travel days. Any extra hours in the parks those days would just be bonus. That's just me though.

One on the best places we had lunch was White Water Snacks. We left DCA and walked through GC. It was quiet and peaceful while every place we thought to eat in the parks was noisy and crowded. Last time we were at White Water Snacks, it was a little more busy, but, it was still better than in the parks.

Love White Water Snacks. We've always found it so relaxing. Our favorite is the chicken sandwich.

Also we like Flo's, Carthay Circle WOC package, Hungry Bear (fried green tom. sandwich), and Bengel BBQ.

We went to WDW for the first time this summer for two weeks. There we made a TS for most days but not all. And the days we didn't I was kind of wishing we did because their CS seemed to mostly have all the same stuff. At DLR we usually only have two TS for a week's visit and the rest are CS. Oh, and often a waffle cone counts as a meal for us. :thumbsup2
