We're planning on dropping off our DS6.5 and DS5 at the club/lab on Sunday from about 11am to 3pm so we can enjoy Palo brunch and some adult time. Does the Oceaneer club/lab provide food to the kids while they're during lunch time or is that something we need to take of ourselves prior to dropping them off? In other words, do we need to feed them lunch and send them off with a full stomach or is that taken care of? If they feed them, is there an extra cost or is that included? If they feed them, does anybody know what they serve?

You'll want to check the Navigator for what time lunch is served. Lunch in the Club/Lab isn't much -- maybe a cheese sandwich and piece of fruit. And they won't "make" the kids come to the table. So you may want to make sure they gat a good late morning snack before you drop them off.

Enjoy your cruise!

My ds8 was there for lunchtime while we were at brunch. He mentioned sandwiches and fruit, not sure if there's more then that!

Not a chance I'd let my kids do lunch or dinner in there. I was in there while they were prepping for lunch (picking up my kids) and it was nothing - like cheese on white bread and a few cubes of melon. AND, according to my kids, they tell the kids "hey it's lunch time, but if what we're serving doesn't sound good, you can just keep playing." I was certain to get decent, filling meals in my kids either before or after their kids club time.

Oh wow! Glad I asked because we will definitely be getting them filled first then. Again, glad to be part of this community with so many helpful people. Happy cruising all!

And they won't "make" the kids come to the table.

So they don't make them sit at the table anymore?

On our last cruise, my kids wanted to play in the clubs, but they were made to sit and watch the other kids eat (even though they had already had lunch/dinner) and they hated it. We ended up working around the club dining hours after that, but I thought it was strange that both the Club and Lab served food at the same time, thus having no play opportunities at all during that time.

It's been 2 years, and our experience was on the Wonder ship in Alaska, but DD loved (preferred!!) the meals in the club/lab! They served something different every day (we had to ask at the sign in desk, but once we knew that we asked every day) and she liked having pizza or hot dogs with the kids rather than sitting still for a long time and eating meals with fancy sauces in the MDR with mom and dad.

Did it change over time, is it based on a decision made by the crew on each individual trip, or maybe it's different per itinerary/destination?

And no, there is no additional cost. But you do have to watch the time because they serve meals when they serve them, and any time aside from that you need to feed them.
