lunch in cafe Mickey, whats it like?

The park hours are released now for when we are there in Feb, and as the park closes at 8 each night, I assume this will be the time of Dreams?

Eating after this would be a bit late for our 2 children, and eating beforehand would be a bit of a rush for Cafe Mickey, and we definately want to eat here as our children love it.

So, just wondering, what is it like in here at lunchtime? We've only been in the evening, when the atmosphere and character interaction has been great. Are there as many characters in here at lunchtime?

And what would be the best time to book for if doing lunch?

sorry can't provide any help but i'm also intrigued to know the answer to this. have booked lunch/dinner with our original booking and just need to call up to reserve the time and little man's cake!

We saw 6 characters at lunch last time we went. We prefer lunch because its not so busy but you still get a good atmosphere.

Eaten in cafe Mickey at lunch and at dinner a few times. With younger kids I'd def go for lunchtime. Saw as many characters at lunch but got more attention as it was less busy. Plus there was less older teens and adults in huge parties that you tend to get at evening meals. It made it easier for my little one to get her 'fair share' of characters time at lunchtime.

We have been to Cafe Mickey a few times at lunch time and had a great time. The resturant was a lot quieter and we had good interaction with the characters.

When we have been in the evenings it was very busy with queues out of the doors with guests waiting for tables.

we usually do one lunch and one dinner there. the lunch is much quieter and relaxed. it is very busy and can be really noisy at night time.

there used to be a bit more variety of characters at night time, im not sure about now but they could spend more time at your table during lunch.

We did lunch and dinner the last time we were there. We were there for first sitting of dinner though, 6pm, so found not much difference between the two.

At dinner we saw Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Pluto and Tigger.

At lunch (the following day) we saw Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Eeyore and Chip & Dale.

The main difference was that at lunch some of them came around a couple of times (because it was quieter) and she had a great time dancing with Mickey at the end. he spent ages with her. We were booked in for one and stayed until the end of the time the characters are there at lunchtime. Having said that she had great interaction at the dinner too, we didn't feel any of them rushed their time with her at all. Although this could be because she could be heard roaring 'Allo!' across the restaurant at them and nearly falling out her high chair to get at them. (She was 18months old) They probably didn't dare rush her!

We got better service the night before but you can't guarantee who you're going to have serving you so I wouldn't let that put you off!!

Can't wait to take my daughter again in March, this restaurant was the real highlight of our trip.

We prefer lunch over dinner too!
It's a lot quieter, service and food is usually better quality and served faster. Characters have more time and stick around longer or they do a few rounds trough the restaurant so you get to see them each more than once. They tend to play more at lunchtime while at dinner I have the feeling it's more of a quick photo, sign autographbook and rush to the next table.
