Hi all,
The clock just ticked past midnight here on the west coast, so I can now officially say that I leave for WDW next week!!! One day I am planning on touring all of the resorts by myself. I need to know what some good lunch options might be. As well as some places I should try and avoid. I don't want to make a PS because I want to try and play it by ear. But I would love to hear any suggestions, both good and bad. Thanks!!!

Melissa

The Grand Floridian Cafe is casually elegant and never a wait. Ask for a window seat and watch teh passersby and the gardens while you relax and enjoy your meal.

Beaches and Cream is another good choice, sit at the counter and chat with the CM's while you eat.

Have fun!

Our two favorites are Grand Floridian Cafe and Kona.

We do make PSs for GFC as there can be a wait during busier times and sometimes out of the blue....I suspect that is when a convention takes a break. Don't need them at Kona.

My suggestions are Kona Cafe at the Polynesian and Olivia's at Old Key West. Beaches and Cream is great if not too crowded and you're in the mood for burgers and ice cream. Avoid Big River Grille.

Bumping up for any last minute opinions. I leave on Tuesday!

I, too, would vote for Kona Kafe, if only because I love, love, love their tonga toast. It's one of the best things I've ever had. As a solo diner, which I've been many times, I'd probably avoid the Whispering Canyone Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge. I ate there by myself last year, and felt a tad conspicuous (although the food was good and the service fantastic). If you're looking to eat a more pricey meal, I ate solo at Artist Pointe, and that was fantastic, from start to finish.

I have dined alone at many places at WDW for a variety of reasons. It is the one place that you never feel out of place being by yourself. So many people are there with someone who is involved in a conference that it is not unusual at all to see people by themselves. My favorites are: Kona Cafe, Grand Floridian Cafe, Yachtsman, ESPN or Big River Brewery (if you are over at the Boardwalk resorts. WDW is such a great people watching place that meal times fly by when you are alone and the staff always seems to be extra attentive of single diners. Have fun.

I believe you are talking lunch. I would recommend the Kona. When I do an "escape from life" trip, ie, a trip to WDW by myself w/o wife or business concerns. I have lunch once at Kona, I love the atmosphere at the Poly, and like the food and service at Kona.

the Galley at the Yacht Club is very nice and very relaxing

Oh Wait! You said resorts! Sorry. Akershus is in Epcot.

I think Spoodles is open for lunch. If it is you could have a lot of fun there.
