We have lunch ADR's at LTT during free dining. Last year we loved the food, but had a not so great server. He tried really hard to rush us through even insisting we order desert at the same time as our appetizers and entrees (which we did not do), and then he disappeared through most of our meal. We had to get drink refills from another server. I wish there was a way to not tell them we were on the DDP :goodvibes . (At least he wouldn't have known we desert was an almost sure thing). Has anyone experienced this kind of treatment lately? And does anyone have suggestions for how to handle this if it happens to us this year? I don't enjoy conflicts, but I am determined to enjoy the great lunch menu without the bad service.

We just had lunch there last week, and weren't given a choice of dessert? :confused3 It was Apple Cobbler or nothing. I will say it was amazing Apple Cobbler, but we had to beg for more and we got a dirty look for even asking...

I was not very impressed with the food ( except dessert), or the service..she was very unusual and very moody almost hostile  , it put us on edge; and even the characters seemed really rushed. We will be skipping that one next time!

they must have changed the menu , now that I re-read your post because we didnt have to order, they just brought out family-style plates of food. We had no choices.

Edit: maybe we had a really early dinner there and it wasnt lunch at all!

:lmao: Moody, almost hostile is a good description of our server too! And yes, we had lunch there and the choices are pretty good. We especially love the crab cake appetizer. Anyone else?

:goodvibes The LTT lunch is one of my family's must do's! DD loves the pot roast and the salads are quite good. We've always had great service.

bluejaygirl, did you say you had an unlimited dessert for lunch? hmmm, must check into that:goodvibes

Sorry if its obnoxious to bump this, but I was hoping to get a few more opinions on lunch time service at LTT. I am especially curious if it is normal for servers to want you to order desert at the same time as entrees?

Last June our server took our dessert order with the rest of the meal too. Must be policy there

We had lunch there last December, the pot roast was delicious, and the chocolate volcano dessert that the DH and I shared was to die for!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't believe we ordered our dessert until our entrees were finished---our server was very good. All in all, we were pleased. Sorry you had a bad experience. That stinks!

You know not at LLT but elsewhere (and I think it was at Tony's Town Square), they took our dessert order with the rest of our order. But since I am fairly quick with my decisions, it didn't bother me.

I am trying to remember if it happened more than once and I am thinking it happened at CRT for dinner too.

I think bluejaygirl was there for early dinner because that is family style (buffet-like but brought to your table).

Since I normally know what I am going to order up front it was ok to take my dessert order. We seemed to get very good service everywhere - a little slow at 'Ohana but the worst service was at a non-DDP place - Fulton's in DTD. Food was good there but service was just plain ... weird ... that is my description!

We had lunch there twice in June. It was so good the first time, we had to go again. The sandwiches and salads were awesome. The service was top noch the first time and left a lot to be desired the second. The strawberry vinegarette is wonderful.

Was there in June. Server did ask what I wanted for dessert but I was asked that at a lot of places ~ seems to be because of the DDP. I just told him I didn't know what I wanted yet, no problem.
The crabcake appetizer was fantastic and so was the Colony Salad (mmmm, now I'm hungry, lol).
I was gald I ordered the salad though as it was freezing in there and my salad came out right after my appetizer. Very rushed!

We ate lunch at LTT a few weeks ago. We were required to order everything at the same time and our waiter was not friendly at all and was very inattentive. My mother is allergic to all dairy products and my father has diabetes and the chef was also very rude to my parents when trying to help them to decide on their desserts. The food was good, but very filling for a mid-day meal on a hot day. I do not think we will try LTT again for lunch with the DDP because it was just too much heavy food.

Thanks for the responses. It sounds like the service is hit or miss. I think we'll keep the ADR for the good food, but keep our expectations low for service. I will be prepared for the desert question, but will probably decline to order it. I'm guessing that there's a greater chance we won't be ignored if the server is forced to come back to take our desert order. :thumbsup2 (As I'm remembering more of that day, I think we finally gave in right after our appetizer or entree arrivals and ordered desert - my memory stinks these days :rotfl: ).

You had an early dinner. Lunch has a menu to order from. Dinner is served family style without a menu.
