Hi
Just did my ADR's and planned an Epcot lunch at the Coral Reef. I keep coming across bad reviews. Should I change it? Three kids 5/7/9 which is why I picked it and not Le Cellier .
Thanks

My son and I went there for lunch the week after Christmas. I had the mahi mahi with a soy glaze over Israeli couscous (which baby pea sized couscous, not tiny little grains). My son had the kid's pasta w/cheese sauce. Both meals were good...not the best I've ever had in the world, but still good. The portions are not huge, more like what proper sized meals are supposed to be.

My only complaint was the waiter that we had...he brought the bread after our food had already arrived, we never got any drink refills...he was just never around. If I could guarantee a different waiter, I would go back again as the restaurant itself was incredible.

At least you selected the lunch which will save you a few bucks over the very expensive dinner menu. Have you checked out the menu? If not, go on allearsnet.com and look it over to make sure it's worth it. I too have read bad reviews about this place, but in all fairness, I always recommend a family tries it at least once. To each his own kind of thing. Our family loves certain eateries and abhors others....unless you see something in the menu or pricing that doesn't suit, give it a fair shot. WDW here we come June 22 :cool1: :cheer2:  :woohoo:

We had dinner there and really enjoyed it. :thumbsup2 We will be going back! The food was very good .Our table was next to the glass so the fish were swimming right by us. :fish: My son loved it!

We (DH, DS,7, and I) have had lunch there twice and we love it. The atmosphere is beautiful -- very calming and relaxing after the hub-bub of the park. We've enjoyed lovely meals; we're from Boston so high-quality, fresh seafood is a given for us, and we do enjoy the food here. No, it's not the best we've ever had in our lives, but we've had absolutely no complaints. We've also had very good service. The huge fish tank is mesmerizing. I recommend this regularly to people, and I think you'll do fine giving it a try!

We are also going there for lunch on our up coming trip. I too have read some bad reviews but want to go just for the scenery. If the food is not all that great then I have the lovely view to take my mind off it. lol :fish:

Our food was great but our waiter was beyond awful. I won't hold that against restaurant. I'm sure he has probably moved on. The manager took great care of us.

We had lunch there last year and did not enjoy the food OR the service!

Be aware that you are NOT guaranteed a seat right near the tank. We were in the back and did not have a good view. I know with kids they might be expecting to be nose-to-nose with the fish and just wanted to let you know that it may not happen.

We may try it again in august since it SHOULD be a good place to go! :)

Hope you enjoy yourselves!

Hubby and I really enjoyed eating there last time we were at Disney. Note it was 2001 so almost 5 years ago now, but it was on his list of places to go back when we go in August again. The quality may have dropped since then, but we enjoyed it and the aquariams where fairly easy for us to see even from the back of the restaurant.

We went there for lunch in October. We had a good experience. Good food and service. As well as a table next to the tank. :fish: I would recommend your ADR be for when they first open and get there early. That's your best bet for gettting a tankside table. (Which for us was key) Good luck.

Okay, here's the real scoop, the real stuff, the "thanks that's want I wanted to know!"

The food is okay. Nothing to complain about, nothing to tell the neighbors about either. If however you've never been...I would go. Why? Coolest setting of any restaurant ever! Should you do it twice, nope not for that price. We were all happy we saw it, but thanks, don't need to do it again.
