Lunch ADR at Canada's Le Cellier

Last year we walked up to Canada's Le Cellier restuarant and got a table for lunch at about midday. Were we just lucky or should we get an ADR to be certain of a table when we go back during the last 2 weeks of November. If we do get an ADR I presume we can cancel without penalty should we change out mind later.

From what I've heard, you were extremely lucky. Make an ADR and cancel if you need to. There is no penalty there - only a few Disney restaurants have penalties and even those usually have 48 or 24 hour rules.

You can pretty much walk into any restaurant when they open. They start getting full (and when ADRs come realy handy) at about 6:30-7PM. We have walked into LeCellier, we have had times were we waited for 20 minutes, but we know better than to try to have dinner at 7pm on a Fri/Sat. It all depends on the season.

We've tried to walk up to Le Cellier before and been turned away. If you want it, I'd say make the ADR.

When we were waiting for our table on Sunday, I saw multiple people walk up to the front desk and ask how long the wait for a seat was and being turned away because there weren't any openings. There was a woman asking if there were any during her 6 day stay and nothing for her either.

The food was good though!

We have walked up to Le Cellier before twice for lunch never for dinner.

I've been reading this thread with interest since I recently tried to book an ADR for dinner for LeCellier during the 3rd week of December 2008. The only ADR that was open was lunch at 1:30pm, so I took that. Now I'm thinking that lunch at LeCellier might not be such a bad thing after all. We've been there before for dinner and it was crazy, extremely noisy, hectic, and crowded. Maybe lunch will be less so?? What do you all think -- is it better to eat lunch instead of dinner at LeCellier now that it is "the" place to eat? Thanks!

I just wanted to mention, because so many people like the Cheddar Cheese soup there, that you can get a big bowl of it as a main course for lunch. It wasn't on the menu when I went last December, but when I told the server that all I wanted was the cheese soup, she offered me am entree size. It was a large bowl.

We had the first lunch seating during our trip last year, and we got there before they opened. We saw several people ask at the podium if they could get in, and the CM said no, they were completely booked for the whole day if you didn't have a reservation. I wouldn't count on being able to walk up and get in, even when they first open for lunch. It never hurts to try, but have a backup plan.
