Lunar New Year

I just learned that DCA will have some special events Jan. 20 - Feb. 5 celebrating the year of the rooster.
I'm especially interested that there will be special food offered. In the past, has this been special booths set up, or something different? If someone goes before us, I would love to see food pics.
I'm looking forward to this as we will be there Jan. 25 - 30.

Maybe there will be SPAM...

I was at COSTCO this weekend, and they had 8 cans of 25% less Sodium SPAM in a gift pack celebrating the Year of the Rooster.... Never did figure out the connection, except why there are 8 cans in the pack.

Haha! Costco logic. Hawaiians love SPAM. Hawaii is kind of closer to China than the rest of the United States are. So Chinese must love SPAM! What is it about the 8, besides the number being good luck in Chinese culture?

It's a little bit bigger and longer than last year. More extra food options, plus a special pre-show addition to World of Color.

They're using some of the F&W/Festival booths for the food.

My daughter is insanely excited to meet Mulan and Mushu. It's all she's been talking about since I told her about it last week.

Anyone happen to know if Mushu does autographs???

My son would love to met them. Mulan is the only princess he is even remotely interested in. Alas, our trip to DLR is in March.

there will be more food products available. one in particular is shao long bao!
