Greetings all!

I'm a newbie to Disneyland and am currently planning a trip in early February. I see the Lunar New Year (Feb 8) and Mardi Gras (Feb 9) are back to back next year. Any idea how that will work for park events?

I'm looking to travel Feb 5-10, so we'd be there for both dates and are hoping to catch two celebrations. Flights and Resorts are good price wise, so I'm hoping for low crowds. If something is announced, will there be a spike in attendance? Would they do these two events on top of each other?

Any historical info would be great, but I understand anything could happen.

Thanks!

The lunar new year was a small celebration in DCA with decorations and food specials. It was located between the fountains for WOC and GRR. Mardi Gras was the same with decorations and some amazing food at the French Market. This was all celebrated in New Orleans square. We took lots of beads and my daughter handed them out to little kids and birthday celebrants.

love the weather and crowds in February. There most likely be closures but it is our favorite time to go.

Thank you all for the information! We're mostly hoping to catch characters in some unique costumes, on top of the costumes they already wear daily.
