Lumpy?

Just wondering, Does Lumpy appear anywhere in the parks? I don't remember seeing him anywhere, and DD has been asking if she will be able to give him a hug

For those, like me, who didn't make the connection, the OP is referring to the Heffalump. All together now; well, DUH! (insert smilie smacking his forehead here).

Nope, haven't seen him anywhere as a character, and I can't remember for certain if he appears in the Pooh ride in Fantasyland, but I don't think so.

Oops sorry, I should have been more clear. I have a 4 year old, I forget, not everyone knows these random characters like Mommies of little ones do. My days are filled with chatter about these guys as if we were best friends with all of them!

Oh, I've been a mommy of little ones (twice), and I've known about the Heffalump since before my sons were born (my oldest is nearly 26 and my "baby" just graduated from college). We didn't have any nicknames for him though and just called him the Heffalump. I should have made the connection, but didn't.

Still think it would be a cool name for a new dwarf

Well, darn - I remember a Pooh cartoon from Disney that had a song about Heffalumps and Woozles from quite a long while ago. This is going to drive me crazy now trying to remember what this was from, but it wasn't from anything as recent as 2005.

And maybe I have an overactive imagination from reading the stories both as a child and to my sons, and thinking the Heffalump was in a cartoon earlier than 2005.

You're right, it was in an earlier cartoon. I don't know what it was called back in the day, but it was in The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. The Friendship edition.The DVD came out this year I believe. It had a song about Heffalumps and Woozles, that was kinda like the trippy Elephants on Parade number in Dumbo.

The "Heffalumps and Woozles" is from The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh. Tigger tells Pooh that Heffalumps and Woozles steal Hunny, so Pooh tries to stand guard with his little pop gun. He then has a nightmare about Heffalumps and Woozles. That nightmare is part of the Pooh ride at WDW. Lumpy is the Heffalump that Roo captures in Pooh's Heffalump Movie. And no, he is NOWHERE in WDW. Believe me, we looked. And how, you ask, do I know all this? My DS5 is a Lumpy addict...I had to have a Halloween costume custom made for him year before last, because they only made Lumpy in infant sizes. I tried to post the picture, but it says "post count too low."

Oh well.

Heffalumps date way back to the very beginning of AAMilnes tales of Pooh. They are mentioned in the early books (from the 1920's) and then in the little movies, "the many adventures of winnie the pooh"

in 2005, there was a movie that came out called the heffalump movie or sometihng like that. The main heffalump character is Lumpy, a baby heffalump who becomes friends with piglet. He's purple and so cute.

I haven't seen any, except on the Winnie The Pooh ride at MK and they are just cut-outs on the wall. That would be a cool character to see though!

Yay, someone else knows Lumpy! Too bad you can't post a picture of the costume, I bet that was adorable, that would be too cute for my 22mo.old! I wish Lumpy would come to MK, or any park for that matter....maybe someday!

I think its from Winnie the Pooh and the Windy, Blustery Day. Pooh or Tigger is dreaming and it's this wild sequence of images. I'm now going to have the "Heffalumps and Woozles" song in my head for the rest of the night!
In the new movie they all make friends with the young Heffalump, Lumpy. He's gotten separated from his Mommy & they search for her. I think Piglet rescues him or something.
