has anyone heard and updates when this will be opened? Last I heard they said early 2016. I saw a video of the testing the ride vehicles in December.

"Early 2016" is still the official answer. That came from a Guest relations cast member over Christmas.

I hope they announce it soon. With so many closures it will be nice if we have something new to look forward to!

I just did some research on this, although I am doubtful it would be anywhere near ready before our trip, but it seems that it's not much of a change from the awful ride that was already there - are they just replacing the tires with cars and you just bounce around in them? I have been away from this board for awhile so sorry if this has already been discussed in great detail.

Thanks BryANDJessMom for the link, it kind of looks like Tow Maters which should be fun (I really enjoyed that ride the last time we were there). Can't wait to actually ride it in June :goodvibes.

Work on the ride is complete. It should soft open any day now. I bet Disney doesn't want to open it when the parked is super-packed during the holidays.

I really liked the original ride, too. The people who figured it out where always laughing
That said, I am looking forward to the new one. I'd be thrilled if it was open in two weeks!

:(

My family loved the ride. We were willing to put in the few moments it took to learn to move the vehicle, and after that it was awesome.

Oh we figured it out - but it was still meh at best - however, I think perhaps it provided an alternative from the more thrilling rides as not everyone wants to go fast or flip upside down. However, I think the fact this ride is being replaced so soon after being launched is a clear indication the majority of people did not enjoy it. Hopefully the next one is an improvement and everyone enjoys it.

Rumor is they have done testing with cast members. There is a rumor of soft opening in the next two weeks.

I loved the old version, and will probably like the new one too, just not as much. Many issues with old one, but the biggest maybe was the cost, it was the most expensive ride to staff in the park? Something like that. And people kept stepping on the black tire when exiting and getting hurt. I saw a woman go down hard, doing just that.

I too liked the old version. DD8 and DS4 loved it, especially DS4! I never thought it was hard to operate though I do think it was kinda hard to get onto and off of without stepping on the tire. I look forward to riding the new ride though and I hope my kids enjoy it as much as they did the old one.
