Luggage

Couldn't seem to find this...We will be arriving at Saratoga Springs early and would like to head to the park and probably won't be back until night time. We will have a car. Can we leave our luggage with bell services rather than leaving it in the car? Will they take it to our room when it is ready even if we're not there?

Yes, you can leave it with bell service, and NO you must be in the room to get them delivered.

Hi. You can leave it with bell services but for delivery at the room you need to be present. So we just have it delivered later when we are back or pick it up from bell hop with our car on the way back. Whatever works for you. Once in your room phone bell service and they usually deliver pretty quick.

Bill...I tend to agree. They can't really cite it as policy since DME delivers bags to the room without anyone present. No rational reason to explain why they won't let Bell Services do the same, since I'm assuming it's the same personnel delivering bags in each instance.

The DME service includes the tip to the bellman as part of the service.

So if you stay in a Deluxe Hotel, the DME cost including tip is part of your room rate.
So what about DVC? My guess is that the cost of DME is included in the annual dues, perhaps in the transportation category, but I am not sure.

The "need to be in the room" policy was admitted to by a bellman who told me that it was a union agreed item designed to increase tips. I don't mind tipping, I wish that we could tip in advance and have them deliver the luggage and groceries. I tried it once at BWV and they wouldn't take an advance tip.
