I want to buy a luggage set (inexpensive) for my daughters 16th bday. Has anyone found any deals lately. I know she would like something cute to take on her schools disney trip in March.

Any deals out there?

I recommend checking the ebags.com website. If you google for a coupon link, you can usually find 10% or 15% off.

Ebags.com carries a wide variety of different brand names, but I'm a big fan of their Ebags branded products. The quality is superb and the price is reasonable...but I'm not sure they fall under the classification of "cute". :) There's plenty of other brands though in prettier colors and patterns.

We like Delsey ourselves. Light, tough and easy to find on sale both in stores like Macys and on Ebay. You can even check it out in macys and buy it for less on Ebay, we did that with their 26" bag.

A word of advice - don't buy cheap luggage. The quality will be poor and it won't last long. My sister bought a set for $79 and a wheel fell off and the zipper broke the first time she used it.

I have one piece of Atlantic luggage and have used it for 10 years. It's still going strong!

Agreed! I've had numerous pieces of luggage completely destroyed by the airlines. There's nothing worse that getting to your destination and having to try to repair your luggage with duct tape. Surprisingly, a couple of those destroyed were pieces of luggage that were supposed to be higher quality (Atlantic and Delsey). Both of those got destroyed on the first trip they made. The eBags Mother Lode luggage is the first thing I've bought that they can't seem to destroy...even after 22 trips so far through baggage handling. (Now that I said that, they will probably get destroyed on my next trip, lol. :lmao:...but it has a lifetime guarantee for damage.) Here's the ones that I have, but they also come in a smaller and larger size:

Another brand (which meets the cute factor, lol) that I've read good things about is the Jansport SuperBreak brand of luggage. See this one at Ebags.com:

Doesn't qualify for cheap, but she will have it for the rest of her life, LL Bean. I bought my husband the carry on size and he loves it. I now have one and we are getting the kids each one for their bdays. They are guarunteed just like their backpacks, so if it breaks, just send it back.

I agree with the poster who advised against cheap luggage. Went on a band trip a few years ago with twins and their mother. The twins brand new bags lost a wheel each on the first flight.

I have bought a lot of luggage, but nobody can beat LL Bean for the guarantee.

Check Marshalls or Ross. I bought DD a Jansport rolling suitcase at Ross, polka dots, she loves it and it has made several trips.

This is the top of the top she will have forever and carry everything for the school trip. I love the duffels, and this has the sturdy bottom like a case, seperators, and then pockets. She would be the envy. There is free shipping for it on Ebags now too. I am not sure if it is out of stock there though.'
I was pricing for something to replace out walmart duffels the kids would take.

I seriously love those eBags Mother Lode duffels. As I mentioned before, mine have been through baggage handling 22 times so far, and they still look brand new. They are actually eBags own brand...so I don't think you can buy them elsewhere. Ebags.com frequently runs 15% off, if you do a search for a coupon code.
