Hi there, Just a question about luggage, time and the magical express. We will be arriving at Orlando International around 8 pm and travelling to the resort on the bus with our two children (23 months and 6 years). It will be concidered late for them when we arrive. Do we pack their pjs in our carry on and wait for the luggage to be delivered? Or do we collect our luggage at the airport?

I guess my question is how long does it take for the resort to deliver luggage from an evening arrival?

Our experience has been that the timing of your luggage arrival is directly related to what day of the week you arrive on and the resort you are staying at. If you're staying at a smaller more hotel-like resort, yoru luggage will get to you quicker. If you're staying at some place like OKW, where they have to actually load your luggage onto carts and drive it to you, it will take longer. If you arrive on a Sunday, it might take longer than, say, a Tuesday, just due to the sheer volume of luggage Bell Services deals with. Because you need to keep in mind that even after it gets to your resort, it still has to get to your room.

My suggestion, FWIW, is to pack one carry-on with the things you will need for bedtime. Better to be safe than sorry. At least you can get the kids settled in. All the rest of your luggage you can put through on ME and not deal with. We have done it many ways, and found this to be the safest route. I'll never forget the first year we went - our kids were 17 months and almost 4. We arrived at MCO at 1:30, checked in by 3:00 or so, and our luggage didn't get to our room until after 8:30. I was beside myself. So never again did we put EVERYTHING in someone else's hands. We've also picked up all of our luggage and lugged it with us. Not so bad to do as the kids are getting older and we don't have as much stuff to lug around. But not fun when we had TONS of stuff - plus the actual kids!

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst, and you'll probably end up somewhere in the middle. Good luck!
