luggage transfer to home resort

We are planning to stay on WDW property 1st nite with cash ressie at moderate hotel and then check in next day to home resort - we do not plan on having a car this trip and are wondering if Disney would transport our luggage to home resort after checkout our 1st night or do we need to find our own arrangements? Thanks in advance for any input.

Yes, they will transfer your luggage from one Disney resort to another. But allow time for them to do it, it may not arrive until fairly late in the day.

We had our luggage transferred from POR to OKW last October......when we returned to OKW at 5:30 pm, our luggage was still sitting outside the drop-off area(with lots of others peoples stuff too).....have no idea how long it had been there, but they wouldn't let us take it ourselves, either....

It is not unusual to see luggage sitting "outside" (actually, under the large walkway to check-in) at OKW, the storage area is very small. There is a bell services CM keeping an eye on it. THey are not allowed to simply place it in your room, you must check-in, get your room assignment, and be present when they deliver it.

Thanks for that info....we had actually "checked-in"....our room just wasn't ready yet. Nothing was missing....and i am sure they kept watch over it......its just always a little disconcerting to see your stuff sitting outside after 8 hours........but again, it was all accoutned for, etc.
