Luggage Transfer From Pop Century

I know Ive read this before, but I'm drawing a blank. When transferring your luggage through Disney from a value resort(specifically PC), do you drop it off or do they come to your room to get it? If you drop it off, where?

Also, will they only take it during a certain time. We would like to drop it off before we leave for EMH so it will be early, like around 7:00am. Is this possible?

I've had mine brought to POP but not from POP to a new resort. But, if it were me, I would bring my bags down to the luggage desk. It's on the right of the main entrance...right by where the DME bus drops you off. I know I have bell services take my bags to be transferred by 8 am, so I can't think why they wouldn't take them before 7.

We moved from Pop to AKL in Jan 2004. Pop picked up our luggage right out of our room. We checked in AKL around 2 and our luggage had not arrived yet. They told us that it typically takes several hours to transfer luggage regardless of resort. We got it around 4:30.

We transferred ours from POP to WL last year we got a cart from luggage services and wheeled it down, put it there before we hit the parks and then it was in our room later that day at WL, no problem at all!

I think we will probably take ours down since we will be trying to make it for EE and will want to be at the bus stop no later than 7:15. I hate to be stuck in the room waiting for them to come.

Good tip about the luggage cart too. We will have 6 people (2 rooms) so quite a bit of luggage. We also plan to pack a day bag with bathing suits and stuff so that if our luggage doesnt arrive by the time we are ready for a pool break (around 2:00) we will be prepared.

Yes, take your luggage down yourself. Last year, it took Pop over twelve hours to transfer my luggage... from building 2 to building 7!

Bell Services picked ours up after we left for the parks. It arrived by 2 at AKL and then was delivered to our room. No hassle at all!

I have a similar question... I am transfering from POP to OKW in Aug, but I wanted to take our bags with us, whats the best way to get from POP to OKW with our bags, but without a rental car??? Should i check my bags with them and let Disney transfer the luggage and then just figure out how to get to OWK myself?

If you want to go with your luggage I would suggest taking a cab. Even if you all wont fit you could have 1 person go in the cab with the luggage and the rest take the bus from Pop to a park or DTD, then another bus from there to OKW. We have done this renting a cab and it worked well.

But I do have the option of letting Disney Transfer it correct? As soon as we check into the OKW, we would then head to a park, and wouldnt need the luggage till we returned a few hours later, so I dont mind the wait, and would hate to pay for a cab just for the one silly trip....

Yes, you can have Disney transfers your luggage if you want. I'm sorry, I just thought you had asked about getting there with your luggage.
