Luggage transfer from Hilton Tokyo Bay

We are starting our Japan trip off with two nights in the Hilton Tokyo Bay before moving to a more centrally located hotel in Tokyo. I've heard many people say how challenging bringing luggage is on the trains and a few people have highly recommended using a luggage transfer service between the two. Has anyone done this? I hear this is a popular option so I'm wondering if I need to prebook it or if it is something we might be able to do at the check in desk?

If this is a service offered and anyone has done it, can you let me know approx what you paid for it, and how far in advance do you have to give them your bag (for example, I hear in some places it's not same day service so you need to give them your bag the day before you move)?

Hilton Tokyo Bay has a dedicated Yamato desk. No need to prebook. It's about $20. Within Tokyo you can get same day delivery, but I don't know when the cutoff time is.
Thank you! Was that about $20 a bag? And I wonder if Disney counts as "within Tokyo" since it's technically in Chiba, which is a different prefecture, although it's like right on the border and very close to Tokyo.

Yes, about $20 per bag for checked luggage size. Might be a little less. Close distances you should be able to get same day. Tokyo to Kyoto, for example, would be next day.

I didn't know the Yamato desk at the Hilton offered same day delivery service. Most hotels only have the service for it to arrive by next day for the same region (in this case, Chiba and Tokyo are both in Kanto). Did you actually try same day delivery to a hotel in Tokyo?

It's an actual Yamamoto desk vs the hotel baggage people doing it like at other hotels. I'm pretty sure you could do same day as long as it was early enough. I sent mine to Osaka and did it the day before I left so I didn't have to deal with it the day of checkout. But I also had a carryon that had what I needed for the next few days.

No, I haven't tried. Now that I look more closely, it's very limited to specific locations. I found this.

@MagicalSnooping Looks like you'll need to do next day. But double check when you get there.
