Luggage Transfer and Valuables

We will be doing a split stay in a few weeks. I would prefer not to rent a car but wanted to know if we should feel comfortable leaving items such as a laptop in luggage that will be transferred from resort to resort by bell services. It will be a park day so I would not want to carry these items around with me during the day. If security will be a problem, then we would rent a car and leave the luggage in there during the day. Any input is appreciated!

If you don't need a car for anything else, I'd just uber/lyft/taxi over to the new resort and leave the items with Bell Services. That limits the exposure to a lot less people and avoids leaving your laptop in a hot car while you are gone. I've left my tablet/laptop inside my luggage with Bell Services (at BWV) many times without incident. Of course, there are no guarantees, anywhere. Good luck!

I have transferred my ipad and chrome book from resort to resort and had no issue. We now pretty much Uber/Lyft because we have to being our refrigerated items, so no longer doing the luggage transfer.

But never had an issue leaving things with bell services

You could have the front desk put your valuables in the vault/safe.

I generally don't leave my laptop anywhere, and I've taken it to the parks a ton. But I have left it with luggage transfer at Disney. There are cameras everywhere, and I'm comfortable with Disney. You could also put it in a park locker for $10, that is an option.

If you take it to the park, take it out of the bag and hold it in front of you in the scanner.

We go to WDW at least once a year. Every single time, I leave my laptop and iPad in a suitcase with a lock on it when we are not in the room and many times when switching resorts and having luggage transferred. I have never had a problem. I'm not saying that it can't happen, but in 20+ times having luggage transferred, it has not!
