Luggage Transfer - ADR?

Oooh my first thread creation! 🤣
On our last day, we are checking out of AKL and heading to MK for the KTTK Tour (yay!). Our tour is 8:30-1:30, then we'll enjoy more MK before heading to DCR for 5pm California Grill ADR. From there we would ideally go straight to MCO...

My question is: do you think we can have AKL transfer our luggage to DCR without a resort reservation, but just on the basis of the ADR?? It would be so lovely not to have to go all the way back down to AKL to pick up our bags before heading to the airport. Any experience with this? I called Signature Services and they didn't really have an answer either way, just told me to ask at AKL and see if they'd do it for me!

I have never tried this, but my guess would be probably not. I think they transfer and store your luggage based on reservation number. But who knows, maybe they would. Can't hurt to ask! But I would be prepared to have to go back to AKL and get your bags just in case!!

Yeahhh that makes sense. Can't hurt to ask though, yes! Thank you for the insight re: moving by reservation number, that is helpful context.

I have read a few reports, not many, here on DISboards from guests who were able to check their luggage at a different resort while eating breakfast at that resort, then leaving from there for the airport. So it's worth asking, both at AKL when you check in and at CR if you have reason to go by there beforehand.

Personally, I wouldn't attempt it. If something goes wrong with the transfer, luggage is lost, is late, etc., you are going to be in a bind. I would either give your luggage to AKL bell services or bring your luggage to CR bell services yourself prior to checking in for Keys to the Kingdom.

I can't believe it didn't occur to me to just bring it myself and give to CR for storage. I will definitely ask this, thank you for your response!

This is a good point, it is high risk. I think maybe best option is bringing it to CR bell services myself, thank you for that suggestion!

So are you driving a vehicle to CR? My question would be if you can park at CR for a KTTK tour. My guess is no but that may one of those odd offerings where parking at CR is allowed, I honestly don’t know the answer.

Sadly no, no car. I think the move would be to take a Minnie Van really early from AKL to be able to drop off at CR (don't want to risk a Lyft being turned away) and ask bell services to hold onto our bags. Is there any risk of them saying no, though? That would indeed put us in a bind!

Ahh, ok, got it, good plan with the MV. I don’t know official policy but I suspect you won’t have any issue, it’s not like most bell services CMs out front are the WDW rule enforces, they generally just want to quickly help you and get their tip. The bell services CM will probably ask if you are checking in - not really advocating fibbing but I see no real harm in what your are doing, in my humble opinion.

I'm inclined to agree - especially because we are actually patronizing the CR. Heck, with 50th Anniversary dinner pricing at CG we'll probably be paying them about a room's worth anyway! 🤣 :cloud9: Thank you for your insights!

One other thing, not sure how many/ages in your travel party/how much luggage you’ll have but if you’re not using the car seats they will be in the back of the MV. It’s a Suburban so a lot of room, but it’s not unlimited. May be an issue if you travel very heavy, so just something to keep in mind.

Oh that is a helpful consideration! We are 2 adults and 2 seniors, so no car seats BUT at least 4 suitcases (including my biggest one, for souvenirs!) so we may need to have backpacks on laps and/or suitcases on seats/underfoot... how do I get myself into these predicaments lol
