Luggage tags

I think I gather from other posts that, if you have booked a package, Disney sends plastic luggage tags with any plain-colored Magic Bands you get. Is that correct? Can anyone tell me what the tags look like currently? I've seen some for sale from online resellers that have Minnie kissing Mickey on them. I'm hoping that isn't the only style....my boys would be horrified if I put that on their bags!

Those are the keepsake luggage tags. So you don't have to use them for DME or anything. So your boys wouldn't have to have them. Not sure what they look like, I won't get mine for another year. But I've read a lot of people who confuse those tags with the DME tags and their luggage doesn't get picked up. So wanted to throw that out there.

The ones I got were Mickey and Minnie Kissing, Pluto, and Minnie. Last year I got Minnie and Mickey kissing and Mickey.

We have only ever had a package once before (usually DVC) and that time we got super cute Mickey luggage tags that we used for a while. I was looking forward to getting new ones. We had nice heavy duty luggage tags I bought from Shutterfly but we moved recently so the address is wrong. Having some cute Disney ones for a while would be great!!

Once you are at the resort you can ask at the front desk if they have any extra luggage tags. We got three of them just by asking.

Awesome!! I kept wondering why we didn’t get any with our Magic Bands as DVC members, but then read we had to have a package. I am encouraged that we can ask at the front desk and possibly get some!

FWIW I just yesterday received an email from WDW about my stay next month, saying my package luggage tags would be 'waiting' for me at the resort front desk - i.e., they won't be mailed (as they were several years ago, the last time I had a package booked).

I thought it was based on the colors of your magic band. But that's not what I got. Although one of our magic bands was orange

Interesting! They used to be color coordinated with the Magic Band color you chose. Now that there are custom ones to order though, I guess they just send out random ones for your party?

Except, if you order the customized MB.
Since I've got more solid colors than I can ever need, multiples of every color on top of that, I always pick a customized one now. Just keep checking till I find one we'd each like. In about half of those boxes, give or take, I've gotten the plastic luggage name tags. We always book room only, never a package. So it's not consistent but you may still get them if you get custom MB.
And since there's no "color" specific tags with the custom bands, they are randomly thrown in. So far, they give us 2 different ones (it's always just DH and I)
Oh, and we get the Magical Extras card with them too. Which is also only good with packages. I've never tried to use one of the features off the card so no idea if it would work or not.

We've never gotten this style, only the old (newish) animation style. So they are either going through their stock of these or the tags above are only sent in certain circumstances.
