Trip is a week away and i still haven recieved my luggage tags...when did yours come?

I think we got ours about 5ish days it wasnt long before we left.

I've had mine, for our trip in May, for two weeks. They seem to be sending them out earlier. If I were you, I would call DME to verify that they have you in their system.

We arrive on April 30th and I have had my yellow luggage tags for about 2 months now. After I booked my flights I went to the DME website and filled in my flight info there and received them about a week later, I couldn't believe it!

My daughter and a friend are leaving on March 7. We paid for both and both are on the same reservation. Her friend's came about 2 weeks ago. My daughter's never came. Not only that, the departing flight # from MCO on the tag was wrong (need to be sure and check). I waited a week before I called hoping my daughter's would come, but it never did. I called last week and talked to a cast member who told me that my daughter was not even listed as a traveler. I made the reservation, so I know her name and information was specifically given. She corrected the information in the computer and then forwarded me to the Magical Express office. The girl there also said no problem. She re-assured me that there was plenty of time and said that she will correct it and send new baggage tags at once. That's been 8 days ago and I haven't received them yet. Not that I'm worried. There's still plenty of time, but I was just about to call and check on them when I read this post.

Disney tells us that they need a 10 day leeway time to print up the tags/info sheet, and get it mailed to the guest. If you have a trip coming up, soon, and have yet to get your DME mail, I would recommend calling DME to be sure you have a reservation in their system. It doesn't happen often, but it can. Much better to make the call, find that you aren't in the system, get put in and be able to ride the bus...even if there isn't enough time to get your tags. You can just bring the bags to the bus with you. But you really don't want to arrive at MCO, only to find out that you don't have a reservation. Yes, some have been able to get a seat on the bus, but the rules state that you have to have an existing DME reservation in order to ride the bus.

We never got ours, either. I am completely and totally lame, but I can't find the website to put in our information or to find the phone # to call. Our travel agent put in the information for us, but no DME tags for us at all. We leave in 9 days. What is the website/phone #? We probably won't get ours in time, but I'd like to call to see.

Last october we never got them. I called a week out and offered to pay overnight ship but the declined and said they are printed 3rd party (not a disney company). As Scared as we were we packed a variety of things in our carry ons in case we never seen the checked luggage again. But at the airport when your down by the busses tell them you never got tags and show them your checked luggage tickets scan your magic bands and your done! They said it happens alot but rarely ever loose luggage. They said just give them a little longer to get the luggage to your resort. A cm told me the baggage handlers at the airport put the luggage with disney tags in a area where disney workers pick them up and sort them by resort. If yout luggage does not have a disney tag it goes to the turnisle with everyone elses luggage then goes into a pile of unclaimed luggage thats where disney employees go and look for yours. So when you show the cm your luggage ticket tell them what the luggage looks like or take a pic with your phone. You can always go after the luggage at the luggage claim yourself if you want. Thank you for reinforcing the info I've posted in this thread.

The worry over not getting the blasted little yellow tags is simply not worth the anxiety.

You don't have to have them.

However, some of us aren't all that thrilled with the possibility of our untagged bags going around and around on the baggage carousel. Yes, someone will be along to get these bags, but no one knows for sure how long that will take. So, your bags could be out there, unattended, for a fairly long time. Then, if no one shows up to get them, they go to the unclaimed luggage area....and then DME workers can get them.
There is a ton of DME info over on the Transportation board. Lots of posters with very good info.

I didn't notice the phone number in the prior post - I will call, just to make sure we do have a reservation. It makes me too nervous to just have them go by the baggage claim #, so if we don't get the tags, I'll just pick up our luggage and take it to the Magical Express.
