I read that you are supposed to put the tags on before you leave home? Do you even do this if you are not going directly to ship? Just wondering because my in-was will be coming in night before and they wouldn't be too happy if disney swiped them from airport. :rotfl2: Should they just wait till before they get to PORT to put tags on? They are not using Disney transportation service. Anyone know of any hotels real close that has a free shuttle over to port? Thanks!!

Tell your ILs NOT to put the tags on their luggage until they are on their way to the port. :) If they are on the bags when they get to the airport, DCL will take them.

The Radisson has free shuttle service. :thumbsup2

Hi,

LBGRAVES is correct! After your inlaws pick up their bags at the luggage claim at the airport, then they can put the DCL tags on. Try to have this done before you get to the port, it will make the process a whole lot easier and faster for you and your bagage porter at the port. If your not flying though you can go ahead put your on. DH and I have ours on our luggage before we leave the house to drive over.

It all depends on the reason why you are not going to the ship!!! If you are staying at a WDW resort the night before....YES, put the tags on the luggage and give DCL your flight number and resort ressie and they will take them you your resort for you....if you are staying at the Hyatt that would be different.....the Magic tags were bright green for our 05 Thanksgiving sailing and said "Magic" right on them....I would "assume" that if there was luggage of Friday that had the tags the handlers would know they wouldn't be going to the ship!! JMHO :grouphug:

We just got back from our first cruise. I did a lot of research on these boards and based on what I read this is what we did:

We flew in from Toronto on the Friday and rented a car from Budget. We drove to Port and stayed at the Radisson. My husband returned the car the next morning, 9am to Budget in Port Canaveral (one block from Radisson) while I packed our carry-ons with bathing suits etc and put the bright green luggage tags on the rest of our luggage. We were booked on the 10:30 free Radisson shuttle (reserved this ahead of time when I made the hotel reservation). From there the Disney boarding process takes over and it's "smooth sailing". My husband couldn't believe how smoothly everything went.

By the way, since we had the rental car we had dinner Friday night at Grills right at the Port and watched one of the cruise ships leave. When we woke up Saturday morning we could see the ships that had come in during the night, from our hotel room. :thumbsup2 :sunny:

We booked our air travel on our own through Delta. I would LOVE if I am supposed to affix our green DCL labels on our luggage from our home airport and have Disney pick up our luggage at MCO to take to the ship.

Is this what I'm supposed to do or is it for only those who have purchased their air/cruise in one package together?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Lisa

Does anyone know, if we just book one night at Radisson does the free shuttle still apply? I though I heard somehere that you must stay two nights.
No parking at hotel necessary because won't be renting a car. Will take taxi from airport. Thanks

We stayed at the Radisson in June for just one night and rode the shuttle to the port. It was great- an easy way to get to the ship. :sunny:

We stayed there 2 wks ago. One night is fine. I would suggest you book yourself on the shuttle when you make your hotel reservation.
