Luggage storage problem for split trip to WDW

Any ideas on how to store luggage in this scenario:

We'll be spending a few days in the parks, going on the Wonder, spending a few days in the parks, and then heading to Costa Rica. Obviously a lot of the items from WDW and the cruise will be useless in Costa Rica. I am guessing this will be 1 large suitcase and 1 carry-on, including FE items. I would prefer to leave it in Orlando as we will not have a rental car in Costa Rica and will be travelling btwn locales via domestic bus.

We will be flying out/in of MCO for our flight to/from CR and our flight back home afterwards. 2hr layover btwn flight from CR and our departing flight home. We are flying Southwest where 2 bags fly free so we can take them home without any problem. Ideally we'd like to be able to store it at the airport but they do not have luggage services there.

Dis'ers have such varied experiences are such a creative group that they have been able to provide solutions to any problem I've ever encountered at WDW (and solutions to some problems I didn't even know I had ) so I thought I'd try my luck with this. Any suggestions much appreciated!

I would either ship them home using boxes via UPS or find out about that service that will ship your luggage home. I don't think ou have too many choices open up to you.

With only a two hour lay over it doesn't sound like you have much of an opportunity to retrieve your things from Disney.

I would change the flight, so you leave in about 5-6hrs after arriving in Orlando. You could leave your stuff at Luggage Services at your resort. Use the Lynx bus back to property (since you're not staying on property you won't be able to use ME). Then gather your belonging for the return trip home.

The other option, is adding an extra night on property. Leave your stuff at LS, and claim it before you leave for your flight home.

Although I don't believe Southwest is one of the airlines that allows you to check your baggage onsite. There might be a way to post date it, so it arrives at the airport in time for your flight home. If you checked it in early for your return flight home.

The better solution, would've been to go to Costa Rica prior to spending time at Disney. The nice thing about Southwest, is you can change your flights without a problem or fee. You only have to pay the difference, if there is one.

sandramaac, I guess shipping it home might be the best way.

SandrA9810, thx a mint for taking the time to brainstorm some ideas - good to know I've exhausted all the options. DH has very limited vacation days so we're using that old trick of taking days around holidays so he only uses a minimal number of vacation days, esp since Xmas lands on a Saturday so he gets a lieu day and the company always gives 2 floater days around the holidays (the floaters are paid days and company-wide, you can't move them to another time). So CR wouldn't have worked first. We're already booked on the last flight out, and flying to/from home on SW but using JB MCO to/from CR. I like your idea of staying an extra nite at WDW, but DH would probably have something to say about that

Thx a mint for the thoughts on this. Once I wrap my head around it, it's doable. We'll have a rental car heading from the port back to WDW, if I pack well before we get off the ship, we can stop by FedEx on the way to WDW and drop off all the cruisewear and purchases.
