I know this is a bad time for me to wonder about this as we leave Fri morning. But, I had just purchased a set of new luggage and I was reading the airlines baggage policy and it said the suitcase can not exceed 70lbs or be larger than 62 inches (L+W+H). The largest piece of my luggage is a 29 inch upright. Does anyone know if I will run into any problems? Or is this a normal size? Thanks.

You really have to measure your suitcase & see. The height itself isn't as important as the 3 measurements added together. Some suitecases are thinner than others. For example, our cruise neighbors put out suitcases that expand, and they were easily 15 inches deep. I've never seen such fat suitcases! Ours were a little taller, but I'm sure the total inches were less than theirs.

We chose to leave our largest suitcase at home. It measured something like 29 height + 24 width + 10 depth, which at 63 could have been a problem. We did curbside check in for USAir in Philly & Orlando. I didn't see that anyone was fined. They certainly weren't out there with tape measures! But I didn't want to take a chance.
