270 day until WDW!!! :cool1: Laugh away..I know I'm nuts. :rotfl:

DH, DS6, DS4 and I will be going in April 2006. Need to know how much luggage everyone brings with. We will be going to 7 days. Need an idea while I watch the sales on luggage. Thanks.

Also, do you let you kids bring their own bag on the plane? What do you give them to do? We have about 2-3 hours in the plane. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

I have traveled a lot for work so I'm big on trying not to overpack. Absolutely bring things to keep the kids occupied on the plane. We have individual backpacks with various items and snacks in them for the plane ride. Here are a couple of great articles from Deb's site that have travel section for Preschoolers and 5-11 age group.

My kids really enjoyed magnetic books with themed magnets (kinda like Colorforms, but magnets.) I got them at WalMart and they kept the kids occupied a long time both flights. Also the travel sized magna doodle kept DD4 entertained.

Our biggest vacation mistake was taking WAY too many bags. Instead of buying or borrowing 2 large rolling suitcases, we took 2 small rolling suitcases, 2 gym-sized duffel bags, 4 carry-on backpacks, 2 umbrella strollers, a car seat and a car booster seat. The backpacks were CRAMMED full of stuff so DD4 and DS2 couldn't carry their own. We ended up not being able to find a baggage cart when we got to Orlando so we used our strollers. Would have been no big deal except while we were trying to move all this stuff to the rental car garage DS2 wandered off (since he wasn't buckled into his stroller) among all the buses and taxis, etc. THAT was the longest few minutes of my life (though DS was perfectly happy checking out all the buses.) Anyway, our lesson learned was 2 large suitcases and no more stuff in the kids backpacks than they can comfortably carry themselves! :teeth:

Hi, just wanted to post that I got a wonderful deal on luggage at Overstocks.com. 4 pc set for $97 including shipping. 30", 26", 21" and a carry on bag. I can't remember the brand, but we have rec'd it already and it is very sturdy. Just wanted to pass that on.

Also, I agree with pp do not over pack! LOL
