When DCL states 2 bags per person does this include or exclude the day bag you carry onboard? Thanks :)

You are not limited as to the number of carryons which you may take. But, remember that room space IS limited.

...AND that it's my understanding that you'll have to carry whatever you bring on around for awhile (at least through lunch) until your stateroom is available.:)

How about leaving items outside the door once we onboard?
And why do we need to carry them with us? I can understand that the luggage may not be in the room yet but why cant we use the room before the luggage gets there?

A lot of the time the rooms are net ready for guests yet. So the vabin steward will ask you to come back and give you a time. Sometimes, however, they will let you leave your carry-ons in the room or closet while they fix up the room. Asking very nicely works like a charm for me every time

I don't know if the policy has changed but I was stopped by security on the ground level and told that I had to check one of my carry-ons as only 1 carry-on was allowed per person.
This was in December 2001.

I had a cruise line soft bag with wheels from another cruise line as my carry on and secruity asked me to zip up and shorten the bag to carry on, if not I would have to check the bag. It was only 1/2 full so I was able to comply.
