I know the Disney website states no luggage on Disney buses, but have seen people take luggage on the skyliner from a few videos, but was wondering with the new Lynx bus service if you got on at Disney Springs is the luggage rule being in forced as one you can buy luggage at World of Disney and if you only have a carry on and a backpack it probably would take up much space.

You can try but you may not be allowed on. Personally I could not be bothered to get the regular bus to DS and then try this. Surely a cab would be quicker and easier, especially if you're potentially stranded at DS if the bus driver enforces the rules.

Luggage is not allowed on any Disney transportation: Bus, boat, and Skyliner or Monorail by rule. Yes some guests will attempt to break any rule that Disney puts in place but as @dansdad posted above expect to be turned away.

Skyliner is allowed I have seen many people do it even a few vloggers, but only having one or two species of luggage and even Plan Disney says it' okay. But yeah You can be turned away by bus. Was just curious if the drivers enforced it.

Whe. We were at OKW, many got on the buses with luggage so they could get to the Hospotalotu House/lobby. No one said anything to them. I was too nervous to attempt it and called bell services to come get our bags. We got picked up in the golf cart and taken to the main bldg.

I guess if I purchased luggage in DS, I’d rideshare back to the resort.

Just clarifying as to not confuse others reading this thread, officially luggage is not allowed on the Skyliner. Do CMs sometimes not want to deal with it and look the other way? Yes. But I would hate for someone to be turned away, and I have seen it, thinking it was allowed.

Just to add to the comment from @dansdad about the Disney Skyliner rules. Please don't take anything posted on Plan Disney as official Disney policy. There is a disclaimer on all "Plan Disney answers".

We saw people being told they could *not* bring their luggage on the Skyliner a few months ago. It was 2 people with fully stuffed backpacks -- which might have been ok -- and each with a carry-on size rolling suitcase. They pleaded their case: that they were transferring to CBR and were just trying to move their belongings there. The CM told them they needed to go back to the resort and have bell services transfer their luggage and that they could then ride the Skyliner over to CBR. While talking to the CM they acted like they had no idea they couldn't bring their luggage on the Skyliner, but as they walked away from the CM, they looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders and laughed. I'm pretty sure they were well aware of the rules and were just giving it a shot.

So while some people may be able to break the rules, some CMs do actually enforce the rules.

According to the Disney website, only buses fall under the no luggage rule.
Monorail, Skyliner, and Watercraft do not show that IIRC. Generally they're fine with small carry-on sized bags, but any large suitcases are not permitted in the parks.

The very large resorts like OKW use buses as internal transportation. That’s very different than transferring between resorts. It’s a different situation & a necessary guest service for those resorts.

Luggage is absolutely permitted on Disney buses under the conditions that it is under the Guests control and not blocking an aisle way or emergency exit (read rear door).

You might want to let Disney know that you are in charge of the rules. They have a slightly different view. As several members have already posted on this thread.

No luggage or alcohol of any type is permitted on Walt Disney World Resort buses.

Sorry Dave but that information was passed along to me by a bus trainer. That is what is in the bus transportation operations guide.
