Luggage on Departure Day

If I have a late afternoon or evening flight on our departure day and want to enjoy the parks earlier in the day, what would I do with my luggage? I plan to use ME but depending on who I fly with, we will probably want to carry on some of our luggage (to avoid baggage fees). Can we have our luggage stored (including carry ons) while we enjoy the parks then come back to pick up our carry ons prior to going to the airport?

BTW, we will be staying at CBR. Thanks in advance.

Yes, Bell Services/Luggage Assistence will store any bags you may have. If you are flying home on a participating airline, you will be able to check your bags that morning and get boarding passes issued. Any baggage fees (if you have those) can be paid the day before, via a phone call to BAGS.

You will be given a voucher to retrieve your bags. Just remember, if it is busy time of day, such as when people are checking in, when you come back - they could be very, very busy and you might have to wait for them to retrieve it. I would allow at least 15 - 20 minutes for them to get your bags.

We were leaving SSR on the 3:30 pm bus and since check-in at the DVC's is 4:00 pm, they were swamped! I was so glad we had paid the fees and sent our stuff off to the airport already.

Great, this is such a relief. I recall leaving our luggage back in 2000 but I couldn't remember how this was done. And back then who was worried about baggage fees?? We each had 2 bags of checked luggage and there were no worries.

And now that we have 7 in my family going, I was thinking that if I don't book with SW then I'll probably have us carry on some of the bags to avoid the fees. Which brings me to a follow up question...

What about when we arrive? Can we leave our carry ons with Bell Services/Luggage Assistance to go to the park if our rooms aren't ready yet?

Yes, same holds true. The only difference is that if you let ME take your bags, you don't have to be in the room to have them delivered.

If you have carry-ons, you can pick them up on your way back or you can call to have them delivered, but you must be in your room to receive them.

I always carry a carry-on bag with my backpack in it, with all the things I would need for my first day. I pull out my backpack, and put my jacket in the carry-on and leave it at Bell Services. They will give you a voucher to pick it up on the way back.

Another good thing to do; I always have Bell Services pick me up at my room on the morning of my departure. Whether it is just me, or me and a couple of friends, it is always helpful. Just set it up with them about two to three days before you leave.

Just be prepared, boy, are they ever on-time! I had a couple of slow pokes this past year, and kept prodding them to keep going - we said 11:00 am, and boy they were there right on the dot.:lmao:
