Hi everyone! We leave in two days!! We have a category 4 room booked. There are 5 of us...are we going to be cramped with all of our luggage? I have two teenagers who each want to bring two suitcases plus their carry-on. I am trying to talk them in to one....Who has stayed on a category 4 before?

We had 7 suitcases on our last trip for 4 people in a cat 6. We were able to nest the larger ones, so we had two instead of 4 pieces. The two smaller pieces were able to be slid under the bed. There was one piece left, and we moved the life vests under the bed and were able to fit the last piece up there. It really wasn't that bad.

We stayed in a cat 4 last January. 2 adults, kids 8, 6, 3. We had two large suticases and 3 small ones (each of the kids had their own overnight size). We were able to store them. But if we had another bag I don't know where it would have gone.

I fit about 3 of our bags into our large bag, and was able to fit everything under the bed. You often have to lift up the bed to get them in, since there's a lip protruding from the bed frame. I'm really bad with measurements, but our fully loaded duffle bag fit snugly under the bed, after we'd slid it past the frame. I'd guess it was about 20-24 inches tall?

Most people who can't fit luggage under the bed are using the tall, hard framed bags. Anything soft sided should fit.

We had 2 pretty big suitcases and several smaller ones. We nested all of them together and were able to put them under the bed. We had to leave the larger ones opened, but the fit none the less.

Wow, I guess we travel light. 4 of us in category 6 with 3 bags. The kids are 13 and 17 and basically adult sized as far as clothing. And we still took way too much stuff, so I can't imagine 2 bags per person.

We plan to use a duffle bag with wheels. It is more flexible than a suitcase and we should be able to put it under the bed with no problem.

tweber84 - how long are you cruising? Remind the teens that they'll probably spend the days in shorts or swimsuits. Unless the bags nest, I think I'd put a limit on the number.

Also, DH and I always put half of our clothes in each bag so that if one gets lost we are still "covered". Makes for lots less worry.
