Luggage- Locked or Unlocked

Same as the Airlines, leave em unlocked...........

Yes, do leave them unlocked. My son-in-law works for the TSA at Logan and he strongly suggests that you leave them unlocked. And yes they will check them on the ship as well.
Have a great and safe trip.

I put the green plastic "locks" on that you get in target or kmart....they just twist off but you would know if someone went through your luggage because they have to break them off to do it. I locked them in NY before I left and when they got to my room on the ship they were still on there...no one went through the luggage at either place. I wouldn't put metal locks on there that they have to cut off but the twist off ones are fine.

They also now have regular locks available that are approved by the TSA. They have a secured access system so that the TSA can unlock them if they need to. The Sharper Image has them at 2 for $19.95.

:sunny: ebags.com has TSA aprobed lockes starting at qo.oo
Thaty have ones that are 4 for 10.00, 3 for 1200, etc. That is were I got mine. The airlines and anyone that should need to open them will have the keys.

Leave them unlocked! If they decide something you have is a "weapon" it will be removed from my luggage before it gets to your room!

Our first cruise, my hubby's leatherman was removed from his suitcase. About an hour after bags arrived, a guy knocked on our door and gave him an envelope with a claim check in it to reclaim it at the end of the cruise. He said the guy had "a lot" of envelopes!

What is a leatherman??? Unless it's an exotic dancer costume, I'm in the dark:earseek:

It's a multi-purpose tool/knife that you would wear on your belt. Pliers/knife/saw/screwdriver/bottle opener/eye hooks, etc. Great to have if doing a project around the house.

We don't fly and we put zippy ties on our luggage. They were still on there when we got our luggage at our state room.

Thanks for jumping in there WOG! I was too busy trying to keep my drink in my mouth and not on my keyboard!!! :teeth:
