So how safe do you think my luggage will be on arrival day?? We are staying offsite and I want to do Seaworld on Saturday, then check into Buena Vista Suites, and on Sunday do MGM and check into Vistana in the evening. I would hate to think that someone would be checking parking lots to case out vehicles.....but I just want to be on the safe side. I have not even asked if I could check in early at these 2 resorts and stow the luggage before hitting the parks because, darn it, we wanna hit the parks!!! Have any of ya'll that stay offsite left everything in your cars or vans or whatever and returned to find everything safe and sound??
Thanks. :confused3

Lock your car, and I would say don't give it another thought!

Your luggage will be as safe as it would be in any other large tourist location. Being on property at Disney doesn't automatically make it safer than, say, Busch Gardens or Dollywood. Thieves know that if your car is in a WDW parking lot, you probably arent' going back to it any time soon!

That said ... there are not a lot of instances of luggage being stolen at WDW. To be as safe as possible, though, arrange your luggage in your van in such a way that someone looking in through the windows doesn't see a big ol' pile of luggage sitting there, ripe to be picked. Don't leave jewelry, electronics, prescription meds, or anything else that would be hard to replace in the van. Bring it into the park and get a locker. If someone does steal your luggage, you want them to get away with only shoes and clothes, not the heirloom necklace Grandma gave you!

I'm sure thousands of people every day leave their luggage in the car at WDW. Chances are, it'll be just fine!

Maybe bring a big blanket or something to cover it up with so if someone looks in your van, they can't see what you have in there.

We have a client that had all their luggage stolen from their rental van in a WDW parking lot. If you can look in the window and see it, they'll take it. Throwing a blanket over it, just makes it look like luggage covered by a blanket.

LOL! :rotfl: I cover stuff with blankets all the time to "hide" it...... but I guess I'm not kidding anyone! :earboy2:

Well at least putting a blanket over it is better than doing nothing and just having it out in plain sight
