Hi

We are flying from Tampa and want to make the most of our last day by visiting the parks.

Previoulsly we have flown Virgin and always used DTD check in so never had to worry about luggage.

I was wondering if anybody would leave there luggage in their car?Obviously valuable items will be kept with us.

Thoughts?

Last year we spent our last morning in Universal and left our cases in the car - we were staying on site so our car was in the resort car park - but we had no problems with this.

When we cruise this october we are also going to leave our car in the port carpark with a suitcase in as we can only take so much on the ship.

Chances are that there won't be any problems.
That said, your insurance will not cover you.
Basically, if you'd like to keep it, carry it with you.

Over the years we have left luggage in the car on our last day numerous times, either in a theme park car park, restaurant or a shopping outlet. Last year we did a road trip for a week leaving car with luggage every day.
Never had a problem but it s risky. Probably less so at a theme park but cars do get broken into. There is a thread on the Dibb running today with at least 2 cars broken into, one believes they were followed after going to the Apple store and buying 2 iPads, both gone. http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=820296

Probably safer leaving your luggage at the hotel and going back for just before you leave for the airport if possible. Most hotels have luggage storage rooms.

Hmmm - got me worried now.

Maybe I shall drop our spare case at Contemporary whilst we cruise - hopefully they will hold on to it for us.

I would do that.

As Wayne says, we've left luggage in the car several times also-for 20 minutes or for many hours.
I don't think well be doing so in the future.

Btw-I've just read and replied to the thread on the dibb.

Hotel rooms (more the motel type) and car boots get robbed all the time in Orlando. The only way to be safe is not to take the risk.

We have left cases with WDW when we have cruised. Last time we checked out of AKL and they sent our case onwards to SSR for us :)

Zoe, you won't need to drop it to the Contemporary if you are staying at a disney resort before your cruise. Just have bell services pick it up, they will transfer it for you and it will be ready and waiting when you get back. Just give bell services a call from your room once you're checked in to the Contemporary and they'll bring the case up for you.

We have done this several times when taking a cruise in the middle of our holiday.
