How do you plan to get to DD from the airport?

There's really nothing to do around the airport (other than actually hanging out IN the airport or attached hotel). You can't check your bags more than 4 hours (maybe even 3) before your flight. Seriously, rent a car.

Do you mean at the airport. I think?? you can only check you bags an hour or two before your flight.

I believe it's usually 3 hours before the flight, but that probably varies by airline and whether it is an international or domestic flight.

Just to be clear...I'm not sure if you are aware....If you are talking about Disney transfers, they will take you from the ship to the airport or a Disney Resort right after the cruise for $35. Some people thought you could catch one anytime. If you want to go to DTD you need a way to get there and then back to the airport. The rental car would be your best option for that plan or the KSC trip.

This is a very confusing thread. I think OP is either confused or has no sense of how far apart the port, KSC, DTD and MCO are.

As everyone has stated - your best bet for visiting KSC or DTD will be to rent a car. There are no shuttles that go between:

• the port and KSC
• KSC and MCO
• the port and DTD
• DTD and MCO

Disney shuttles got between:

• the port and MCO
• the port and a Disney resort

A one day one way rental from the port to MCO is very inexpensive and your only viable option.

To be exact, it is 4 hours for most airlines, I know with AA it is standard for MCO, for just this reason, they don't want to store luggage all day, they don't have the facilities for that...

From AA website: * In Orlando and Fort Lauderdale, baggage for confirmed flights may only be accepted up to four hours prior to confirmed departure.

I did look into renting a car for the day. It was 215.00 for the day. That is way too much. I can get a ride from the airport to downtown disney from a friend. I will probably ask it they can pick us up at the port, since we cant check our luggage right away at the airport

so excited. my friend will pick us up at the port, spend the day with us at DD and will drive us to the airport, she lives in the orlando area.

also we are not using disney shuttle, too expensive. we are using cocoa beach shuttle for a lot less
