Luggage ? Before and after Cruise

We will be cruising shortly staying at WDW before and after. We are using the Disney bus transfers. My question is do you check your luggage at the resort and then they place it by or in the cabin--like Magical Express at the resort--or do we have to take the bags from the bus into the terminal? Same on our return to WDW. This is my first time on the Cruise Line board & reading all the posts-you gives have great info!

Depends on how you set it up. If you are doing carry-on, as we always do, the bus will unload at the Port Canaveral terminal (it kind of looks like a Greyhound bus station, lots of buses). The driver will unload the luggage and place it on the sidewalk next to the bus. You have to retrieve the luggage and wheel it to the security area. It goes through a TSA-like X Ray machine. You gather your luggage at the end of the Xray machine and take it up the escalator.

If you are checking it all the way through, and you won't see your luggage until plus or minus dinner, then the resort will inform you of the time the luggage must be available for pickup.

For a return trip to WDW, you have to collect your luggage in the terminal and put it on the bus (underneath) you take to your WDW resort.
