Luggage arriving before we do?

My daughter will be arriving at MCO (7:30 am) about 3 hours before I will and wants to wait for me so we can take the Magical Express to the hotel together. I am pretty sure that her luggage will be sent to the hotel before we arrive there. I guess my question is that since we haven't checked in yet - does the luggage just sit with the bellman? If we do an online check in the day before, will our room already be reserved and will they put the luggage in the room? Thank you! :)

there was a time when you had to check in with DME before your luggage was even send to WDW.

so if this is the same - then no it won't arrive before you.

some people love the onlline check in and use it alot. I don't - love to be able to pick my room. w/online check in you have to take what is available.

your room may or may not be ready when you arrive. Disney tries to give those who use online check in the first rooms ready. but if no one checks out early - they can't.

Thank you spiceycat! I actually thought that if we use the online check in, our chances of picking the room would be better! Maybe if we call the day before??

depends upon the resort. Some have refused to change the room you got with online check in - others will if you ask nicely, no demands.

calling the day before I don't think will help.

I personally like to check in when I get there. I even call a week before just to reiterate my requests to the front desk of the resort. Happy to say, I have never had a problem and always ask to be shown on a map where my room will be. No one has ever refused the requests. With on line check in, not sure how it would work as I have never used this service.

You cannot call the resort directly. You will go to a CCC that answers the resort as if they are actually there. All they do is pull up your reservation and read back your requests to you.

You cannot "pick" your room ahead of time as no one knows exactly what rooms will be in/out of inventory until you check-in. It is not like a ship, where everyone arrives and leaves the same day.

Just place your requests on your reservation up to five days before check-in. About 3 - 5 days ahead, the ressies roll over to the resort via computer and the room assigner does the assigning of general areas/rooms.

When you arrive, they will indicate your room; if it is not to your liking, you can reiterate your requests and state you will wait if needed. Depending on how busy the resort is, they may/may not be able to accommodate you. This is especially true during very busy times, room refurbishments or large groups staying at your resort.

Thanks so much for your responses. Daughter decided she's just going to go over to the hotel upon arrival and I'll meet her there. She'll check in there and take her chances for the room. Thanks again! :)

since you all were talking about arriving at different times etc... i thought i would ask....

If we are arrivng around 9-9:30pm do i need to notify anyone of later arrival? was going to do online check-in but have a room location request on file already. Been reading that online checkin doesnt get room requests alot of the time......

whcih is better option? not worried about check-in desk time especially that time of evening....

dont want to get a room everyone else didnt want.....
