If we are flying SWA and want to use ME, how many pieces of luggage can we have including carry-ons. I normally travel with a backpack instead of a purse, will this count as a "piece of luggage"?

I am sure that this has been covered before, but I can't seem to locate it.

Thanks!

Lynn

You can have two suitcases per person. One carry on and one personal items. The backpack would count as a personal item.

Thanks Safetymom!

I hate to be dense, but you can have two checked pieces of luggage, plus one carry on, plus one personal item on ME? (I know thats the limits on SWA)

Sorry just re-read mu OP...I need to know limits for ME...

Thanks again...sorry to be such a pain....I just travel with someone that this may be a big issue for them.

Whatever you are allowed on the plane would be what you are allowed on ME. If you decide to shop in the airport in Orlando you would be allowed those bags as well.

I can tell you the airlines are really cracking down on the weight of your luggage. I saw about 6 people this trip that had to remove items from their luggage or get charged.

Thanks Safetymom! I know that SWA (our normal carrier) has decreased the weight limit on their luggage. One of the people that I travel with has been pushing the upper limit in weight in the past, and may have to change her ways (or pay)!

Thanks again for the info!

Some airlines, including SW, allow you to check 3 suitcases. I understand ME will send you an extra tag if you ask.

Southwest allows 3 checked pieces of luggage, weighing up to 50 pounds each, per ticketed passenger. See http://www.southwest.com/travel_center/baggage.html

Southwest allows one carry-on bag per passenger, with maximum dimensions of 10x16x24 inches. In addition, Southwest allows one personal item (such as a briefcase, camera bag, or laptop bag).

Magical Express normally provides 2 luggage routing tags per guest, for luggage that will "magically appear" in you room, though there have been reports on this board of guests requesting additional tags. In addition, you can take your carry-on and personal item.
