Luggage and DME

We are a party of 10 flying into MCO on August 21st. I have arranged DME. I am now looking at renting a car at MCO for the full length of our vacation instead of only a couple of days at WDW as the rates are sooo much cheaper at MCO. If I pick up the car and drive to WDW and the rest of my party takes DME will they still pick up and deliver my luggage to our resort? I do have 2 DME luggage takes for each member of our party so I could also put someone else's luggage take on my luggage if this would help.

What we have taken to doing is using the DME to get us to our resort and then renting a vehicle (We use National) at the Swan/Dolphin Resort. You can use the WDW Transportation service to get you there and back. You will pay a Resort Dropoff fee, but to us it's better than driving to and from MCO. After you return your vehicle you just use DME to get back to MCO. You can also rent vehicles at the Car Care Clinic outside the Magic Kingdom, but I find the Dolphin easier to get to. If you were to decide on National, join their Emerald Club for Member Discounts--it's worth the effort. Have a good holiday!

Thanks for the suggestion. I have normally rented a vehicle at WDW, but this year it is twice as much to rent at the WDW Car Care Centre or Swan and Dolphin than at MCO so I am prepared to drive from MCO.

Yes. Tag all your luggage. Send everyone else on Magical Express. Pick up the car. Enjoy your (probably) only peaceful drive during your trip .

Your own suitcase/s will make it.

Thank you! Should I tag the luggage with my own DME tags or one of the extra DME tags from another member of my party.

Yes, it will probably be my only peaceful time as I am travelling with my 3 young grandchildren. Our party is a group of 10!!

Either way will work just fine. Your luggage will get there. The only thing Disney says is not allowed is for people to use DME as a luggage only service.... the rest of your party is still using DME, so you are just fine.
