Hello! My first post. Hubby and I have res for the luau dinner show in December. I paid for cat 1 seats. I have since read some terrible reviews! Now, I'm concerned. We've never been to the luau, but have been to hoop de doo, we're only at Disney 3 nights and we're going to flying fish, whispering canyon, and luau...would you recommend we just go, or cancel and do something else? Thank you!:flower3:

Go. Food is good. Show is cheesy at first but fun after. All the beer and wine you can drink. Cat 1 has a great view. We go every year now. It's our final TS meal during our trip.

Next time is only 15 days away!

We have ADR's here for our next trip in a month. This will be our first and are looking forward to it. We read and got some negative reviews but that does not discourage us from still going. Looking forward to everything especially all the beer and wine.:woohoo:

Thank you for the advice Donald 38, jadyreen, and sephora chick. We will just go and I'll post about our experience. Sephorachick, I read thru your blog and it did sound like a chaotic experience...but you and your husband are so cute together!!

Be careful when reading reviews some are a little long in the tooth to be indicative of todays shows. Those volcano desserts are G-O-N-E (for the better). But Minnie the show MOC lady is still there...:thumbsup2

We went a million years ago and it was fun. Have since made a few trips to Hawaii and while not up to the standards of the better ones there - it holds it's own with some of the ones on Waikiki.

Honestly - it was one of my inspirations to visit the islands in the first place.

We did this show about 3 years ago and it was our first time. I was worried about going after reading so many negative reviews. But we loved it, yes it was a little corny but it kept our attention and the food was good.
But maybe we enjoyed because we drank a little to much lol

I loved this show! Unfortunately, there were a few guests that ruined this for us. Some people cant handle unlimited alcohol. The food was good but not outstanding..I am a picky eater though so don't let that sway your opinion of going. The walk to the Luau is great and very pretty. You do get a picture taken too! I really thought it was worth it. Ive done the Backyard BBQ as well and that was a blast; a lot more interactive!

You should go! We went to the show when we were at Disney (I think 4 years ago) and we really enjoyed it! I had read some bad reviews as well and was uncertain about going but so glad we went!
Enjoy!

I enjoyed the food and the show, but my wife didn't like it as much. The show is a little cheesy, but that is Disney for you. I have seen better shows outside of Disney but I thought the food was really good.

HDDR is the best out of the 3 dinner shows in my opinion. You might consider another option and book tickets to La Nouba and grab dinner before or after the show.

We have vacationed in Disney for two weeks for the last tens years... and have done the Luau every year! Its a tradition for us.. and I do have a crush on the fire thrower dude... he is HOT!!
And u do get a Lei

Thank you! My 4 year old DD loves LILO and Stitch and says she wants to see the show like they see at Noni's work so I think she'll be very excited!
