Luau at RPR?

Just wondering how the Luau is at RPR? I've been to a true luau in Maui and LOVED it....just wondering if this is comparable, and will my husband and step son like it?

Never been at a proper Luau, but have been at the one at RPR, we did enjoy it, food was excellent and lots of it, same with the drinks.
We booked in advance, but would have been able to get seats when we where there last July if we had decided to go.

i've been to Germaine's in HI and nothing could top that luau !


the luau at RPH is a better performance and has better food than the luau at disney.

I agree with mac, would not go back to the Disney one again, but would do the RPR Luau again.

i have two questions about the luau.
i did a search about it but most of the threads are kind of out dated.

what do we wear to the luau?

if i book it now, are the seats reserved? (going in july) or is it first come first serve on the night of the luau?

Seats are not reserved , if you book it , i would get to the venue and start queueing about 5 pm, they said to us 5:30 , but there was quite a lot there at 5:30. Seats are assigned when you checkin at the Luau
