LTT or Garden Grill?

Specifically for the dinner food.. I realize GG is a character meal and LTT is not. The menus are similar and I'm looking for a meal that is "different" than the standard meaty macaroni, burger, cheese pizza, etc for the kids and am contemplating one of these. Is the food significantly better at one than the other? For character meals, I already have Tusker House (B) and 1900 Park Fare (D), so the meal being a character meal isn't as important as the food.

I haven't been to LTT since they stopped having characters there. We've done GG twice now. The food quality is very similar if memory serves. The dessert is different, and I don't think they have fish on the menu at LTT. Since characters are not a deciding factor, I would choose whichever works best in your itinerary, i.e. do you need a meal on an evening you will be at MK or at Epcot.

We have parkhoppers, so I'm not concerned about what fits best in touring. We never stay at one park a day anyway.

It seems like LTT get consistently good reviews, while GG gets good reviews for the character interaction and so-so reviews for food. But the menus are so similar, I was trying to figure out if there really was a difference before I dump LTT for Garden Grill. If the food is the same and I can get the character side of it, I'll switch to GG. If it's not as good, I'll stick with what I have. I've never eaten at either so I don't know which way to go.

We've done both and my family preferred Garden Grill. We enjoyed the food as well as the restaurant itself; the characters were an added bonus.

We really like both and do GG every year but this year we decided to do LT. if you eat around 7ish its great, you walk out and the your in a good location for the illumination parade.. Cant wait!!
