We like having a sit down meal for dinner on days when we are in the park. We usually leave the park and take the monorail to the Polynesian and eat at Kona Cafe. However this trip we want to try something a bit different. We are thinking about eating at either Chef Mickey's or LTT. The characters aren't a big deal for us as our party will consist on adults and young adults. We are simply thinking about the food. Which would you recommend?

If the characters aren't important to you, I would skip both Chef Mickey's and LTT. Ate dinner at both last week. Chef Mickey's was average buffet food (desserts were pretty good) but the atmosphere is loud and frantic with kids running all over. Character interaction was nil (not that that matters to you). Will never eat there again.

LTT was also noisy and crowded (and we had an 8:45 p.m. PS!)and the food was pretty nearly inedible. Salad wilted and the rest of the family style meal tasted like frozen dinners. Snow peas and apple crunch dessert were pretty good. Character interaction was good, but again that doesn't matter to you. Will only eat here for lunch, never dinner again.

For a sit-down dinner in MK, I'd suggest CRT. We ate lunch there and it was pretty good. If you take the monorail from MK, I'd suggest Citricos, California Grill or Narcoosee's. Others may suggest Ohana, but we try to stay away from anything that looks like a buffet (unless forced to do a character meal 'cause of the kids).

I'm just the opposite. I ate at both last week and loved each one. Chef Mickey's was an absolute blast for my little ones and my hubby. The food was good and the desserts were awesome. If you're not into kids everywhere though, I would skip this one. This might sound silly but I would definitely eat earlier in case they are not cleaning up after the sloppy people. (I was behind a mother who didn't seem to care when she dropped her food all over the buffet).

Liberty Tree Tavern was a nice, cozy restaurant that served Thanksgiving style meals. After a week of mostly eating burgers, it was quite a refreshing change.

Good luck with your choices!

We have eaten at LTT at least three times on previous trips. We have always found the food to be very good and fresh, and a wonderful change from everything else we had been eating.::MinnieMo

O'Hanas is all you can eat, but not a buffet. The food is brought to your table.

We used to go to LTT every trip, but for lunch and it was always good. Since they've added the characters, I've heard that the dinner menu isn't very good, but the lunch is still pretty good. It has an old colonial feel to it, so more grown up feeling than Chef Mickey's which is kind of out in the open, and as mentioned, very noisy. Never tried CRT, but hear excellent reviews on it for lunch and dinner. Why pay extra for characters when they aren't a priority to you?

We've had two early dinners at LTT and have found the food very good. The only thing we've found we didn't really like was the macaroni and cheese. The meats, stuffing, mashed potatoes, salad, and dessert were all raved about, adult and kids included.

Chef Mickey's, on the other hand, we did once for dinner and will not do again. The food was bland, the place was messy, the atmosphere was exhausting. We might try breakfast some time, though.
