I was wondering what people thought of this plan.

Animal Kingdom in the morning.
Leave AK after the parade.
Head to the hotel to freshen up.
Go to LTT at 6pm then get out for the party.

Does this sound like it will work?
Will I miss out on party stuff?

Thanks!

Hello! Your plan sounds VERY workable, and you'll be able to be out for the party by about 7, so you'll be in good shape. If everyone in your group can stay out until the end of the party, you can pretty much catch everything you'd like to see/do. Have fun!

It's workable, however . . .

We did LTT at 6:45 p.m. before MVMCP in mid-Dec. I tried to get an earlier ADR (suggestion: book LTT as SOON as you possibly can on your MVMCP night!) but couldn't. We still were able to see a parade, the fireworks and do some rides. We would have been able to do more, but my two DS's had a little "incident" in the middle of Main St. and we decided we needed to impose some discipline and cut the party short.

And that brings me to the "however" part - yes, my DS's (9 & 11) like to pick on one another, however, we had been in MK in the a.m. for opening, went back to the hotel at about 3:00 p.m. to "relax" and then headed to the party at about 5:45 p.m. Even with the down time at the hotel, they were tired (which surprised me because they are both very active kids) and I think it was all a little too much for them. If I ever did MVMCP with them again, I would spend the ENTIRE day at the resort relaxing and then head to the party.

If you have kids with you, I would really consider NOT going to AKL in the a.m. I'm not sure where you are staying, but keep in mind the travel time it will take to get back and forth from AKL and MK and the amount of walking you do in AKL - it's a lot. Especially if you stay until the end of the parade at AKL (which is usually around 3 p.m.) It will probably take you an hour to get to your resort (with walking to the buses, waiting for the buses, the ride, etc.) and, with approx. another hour to get to MK and LTT (you should get to your ADR about 15 minutes prior), that only gives you about an hour of rest time!!

If you are with a bunch of sturdy, commando adults (like me!), then go for it. Otherwise, I would seriously reconsider.

My only concern is that the parade at AK is rather late. When we went the week before christmas, it didn't START until 3:45.

In December, we let our 2.5 yo sleep in. We hung out our around the resort, tried to get him to take a nap around 2 or 3 (of course he didn't!), and then had LTT ADR around 5pm. It worked out great (other than the lack of nap...he ended up falling asleep during the fireworks and woke up again for the late parade!).

Personally I don't think its enough time AK parade qill take you until 4;30 to get out of the park,.

kgibbler20,

Keep in mind that you are essentially paying for another days admission by buying your MVMCP ticket.
By going to AK in the morning and then going to MVMCP later that day, you are basically using 2 days admissions in 1 day.
Your schedule is doable, but you will feel rushed and it will be a looong day.

My family went o MVMCP this past Dec. 6th and truly loved it.
We entered MK @ 4:15, had a 5:45 ressie at LTT, which was just ideal because we finished our non-rushed dinner at exactly 7:00.

The main thing to remember with your MVMCP ticket, is that you can get into MK anytime after 4:00 p.m. So why not take it easy that morning/afternoon. Sleep in, lounge around your resort, go swimming, do whatever, and then get to MK for 4:00. This way you'll save a day on your MYW tix too.
Remember you will be out until after midnight!

When we do MVMCP this year that will be the only park we visit that day. We'll spend the day at the hotel, maybe do a little shopping. I am planning on booking LLT for around 5:30. Hopefully we can book when we purchase the tickets. We did only the MNSSHP on the day we had bought the tickets, and the kids were able to go until midnight (ages 5 and 7 at the time). We opted out of not doing the LTT last year but are planning on doing it this year.

I don't think you are leaving yourself enough time. With a 6 pm ADR you will be rushed to make the first parade. We had a 5:30 pm ADR before MVMCP this year and it took about 15 minutes before we were seated. We were there for nearly an hour eating to give us a chance to see all of the characters.

That said you may want to skip the first parade. It is very busy. Instead we went on rides during the early parade.
