We're having our reception at the Living Seas. I was just wondering: I know that if you're having an in-park ceremony or reception, you can sign your contract at the 12 month mark. I'm just wondering if this includes the Living Seas or not, since it is technically in Epcot, but it isn't actually out in the park. I just need to know if I should have that money set aside for the 12 month mark or not. :confused3
Thanks in advance, you girls are so wonderful. :thumbsup2

I'm also having my reception at LSS and was able to sign at the 12 month mark. It's a beautiful location, I just love it.

I love it too, I'm so so so excited about it! We'd originally wanted a beach wedding in Hawaii but we had to be somewhat family friendly in our non-traditional wedding choices, so this is so perfect for us :goodvibes
I just called DFTW to ask about this (I had a few other questions as well) and the girl said it would be done at the 8 month mark, even though it's in the park.. I just got the feeling she didn't really know what she was talking about. :confused3

we ahve just contracted and ls was an option for us but we chose ariels in the end but you can contract at 12 months.

Anything in park is 12 months is what we were told before we contracted

This is really bothering me that she told me 8 months. I wanted to make sure because we aren't made of money (as no one is) and I wanted to make sure we didn't get too over our heads with booking other things that can wait a little longer, and then call to reserve our date and be told we had to sign the contract right away. When I was talking to her, I even said, "You're sure? Because I know for in the park receptions, you can do it at 12 months, I just wasn't sure if the LSS was definitely included in this" and she said "Yes, I'm sure. 8 months out is when you contract." I'm sorry to vent but this is frustrating the heck out of me now. :headache:

LS was our back up location if we didnt get ariels and our sales consultant knew we were contracting at 12 months as we wanted to book holidays for our guests as we are flying over from the uk

lss was my back up location as well, we wanted ariel's too, but it was booked. it would have been a lot easier and cheaper to have it at ariel's, but oh well, lss is special and it's cool that our guests will be able to see backstage!

Well, out of lurking I come, because this topic is really worrying me. Why can't Disney give out the right information about when a contract can be signed? >_<

I've been told twice on the phone that contracts are only done 8 months in advance. One girl explained by saying you *can* book certain ceremony/reception locations 12 months in advance, but it's not really a contract. You still have to wait until 8 months for the real contract.

*sigh*
In any case, DF and I are going to push the issue when we're down there for our site-visit appointment next week. We've been wanting to get a contract asap for our date and they keep being wishy washy on us :headache:. It's past the 12mo mark already and I bet every slot we wanted is booked already. ;_;

Hopefully we'll be coming home with a contract. :\

One of the bad things about DFTW is that things can change based on who you talk to.
I got my contract today and will be sending it back signed and with my deposit in the morning and I'm 10 months out. I hope it all works out for you :hug:

congrats on getting your contract sent out!

Hi girls. I called back this afternoon and got the same "8 months" song and dance. Disneyberry, if you could let me know what happens after you get back from your planning session, I'd really appreciate it. This is really frustrating. I guess we'll just hope for the best.
Thanks for all your help.
