My target gave me a big hassle. They refused to price match the Best Buy ad (which I brought in the ENTIRE ad). They said it was a "bundle" and according to their policy they do not match "bundles". 10 minutes worth of debate on what constitutes a bundle got me nowhere. I was so frusterated. The girl was polite and nice, but would not budge. I would have gone to another cashier, but the store was slow and there were only a few cashiers and most of them got into the discussion. I am going to email Target for clarificaton for my own sanity.
I will try to get back up there on Friday and try again, but my nearest Target is 30 minutes each way, not exactly convenient for me to just keep bopping into.
So why is target NOT letting people use all three coupons?
Target stores should be allowing the use of the three printable ones all together if you buy both Up and Monster's Inc on blu ray in the same transaction. They should be able to use the manufacturer $10 off Up and $8 off Monster's Inc as well as the $10 off Target coupon. That is one manufacturer coupon for each and a store coupon (you are allowed to use both a store and manufacturer coupon on the same item). It is when they try to get another $10 off using the peelie coupon that is usually the problem. Since the peelie coupon is also a manufacturer coupon (and it requires the purchase of two items), it shouldn't be allowed to use it with either the $10 off Up or $8 off Monster's Inc because that one $10 peelie coupon used up the manufacturer coupon for both movies. Cashiers who reject the $10 peelie when used with the other manufacturer coupon(s) are right, but other cashiers are letting it go through anyway (they either don't know or don't care).
The stores will get into trouble if they try to redeem more coupons than they bought stock for. If they had 20 blu ray Monster's Inc and 12 people used both the $8 MI coupon, plus the $10 off peelie, they would have needed to have sold 24 copies of the movie to cover the coupons they are trying to be reimbursed for. Since they only ordered 20, they could end up in trouble with the manufacturer (who has to pay Target for all of the manufacturer coupons that are used). Stores can be required to show proof of purchase of enough stock to cover redeemed coupons.
The reason they let you combine store and manufacturer coupons is because they get their money back from the manufacturer (so they get their money either way). The store coupon they use as a leader to get you to buy it and they take the loss on the price reduction (which they planned for--they are probably still making a profit, just a smaller than usual one).
Just wanted to add that I used the coupon in post # 21 (Thank You) at Walmart earlier today and got the blue ray set for $ 9.96 (it was on sale for $19.96). So, the coupon was accepted at Walmart!!
UP!!To those who got it at Wal-Mart for 19.96 -- was that the price advertised at the store, or was it advertised for more than what it actually costs? I'm asking because my Wal-Mart is advertising it for 29.96.
Funny you ask that, I was in electronics, UP was marked $29.99 (this was Tues AM at 9:30). An associate was standing there with a portable scanner and I said "can you please scan this, it cheaper on-line." She said in a nasty tone, "It is what it is marked, on-line is different". So I asked (well, begged) again if she could just scan it... she scans it and says "It's 19.99" in a 'duh-you-stupid-customer' type of voice. So I point out they are marked $29.99. Ugh, don't get me started on Customer Service right now. Ironically when I walked out of the store all the UP displays near the front registers were also marked wrong. Ironically she also rang up a Wii remote for me, entire diplay was marked wrong.
