Lowes First benefit - regional gift

I just signed up for the Lowes First card because we are going to be at HRH (for the first time) over Labor day weekend or Columbus day weekend.
There were a lot of choices for the welcome gift. I was wondering if anyone gets the regional gift and what it is?
Also we booked using the Entertainment rate so do we even get it anyway?
How much are typical upgrades and are they ever available to Entertainment rate guests?


I just gotta say, I was completely shocked that the Entertainment rate was still available for those weekends. The columbus day weekend, the rates were available for all three resorts.

columbus day??? Geez when is that? Dont even know what month its in! No wonder its available that day, thats like everyone flying in for ARBOR day it wont happen!

We just got back and got the Entertainment rate and the welcome gift. I had read on these boards that some people with Entertainment rate did not get the welcome gift. Don't know what you mean by "regional" gift. They gave us our choice of gift and choice of morning newspaper. I also got 500 AA Advantage miles.

Columbus day is in October. My daughter's school gets one day off but I have heard other schools get a couple days off. On the disney side of this board they talk about how crowded it gets that weekend.
So that is why I was shocked.

We've been to Disney 3 times over Columbus Day weekend. We try to plan our trips during "off-season" on 3 day weekends so the kids miss fewer days of school. I know MNSSP is also held this time of year (which can make the parks a bit more crowded). US's Haunted Happenings nights are also running by Columbus Day. It's really a great time to go!
