Lowdown on Spirit Airlines?

So Spirit Airlines rates are the cheapest... Then I started reading all the reviews Can someone please explain to me all the baggage fees? Do they charge for checked and carryon? Is there anyone that has used them and can give me their experience? As expensive as the other airlines are, not sure if it might be worth it and be conservative with our packing so the extra fees aren't too much... Does anyone have the exact breakdown/lowdown on all the extra fees? Is Spirit Airlines really that bad?

I compared Spirit with Frontier and Frontier is cheaper by $50 for us..maybe check them out!
