Low rise jeans are not for everyone!

I just tell them, "you can't put 10 pounds of sugar in a 5 pound bag."

Isn't it scary how people have this belly fat. When I was in highschool, I don't remember anyone with belly fat, the way the h.s. and junior high girls do. I remember 1 or 2 larger girls, but nothing like what you see now.

Old Navy does carry plus sized clothing and maternity. That is where I buy my jeans: Old Navy, Target, or Lane Bryant.

I definitely don't wear low rise.

Also, we have a friend who is 9 and I am not sure what size she wears, but I am sure it is above average for her age - I will ask the mom where she shops for her. She always has cute stylish jeans that fit her appropriately.

Hey ladies...there are guys who actually like that look...me for one...not mobidly obese, mind you, but some curves and a little belly is kinda sexy.

I have a question...

Why is the sight of fat rolls disgusting? Or inappropriate? I say, if a person of that size has the CONFIDENCE to wear something like that...good for her! I wish I had 1/10th of that. I bury my body in clothes that are 3x's too big for me, so I am sure I look much larger than I am.

In this day, where more and more americans are "PLUS" size, we still are not used to it.

Sorry, not everyone can be a size 6.

What about the ultra low rise jeans. Those things are so FREAKING Low. And young girls are wearing them. :earseek:

I'm with you on this.
If that is how she is comfortable, why does it have to be pleasing to your eyes?

What's drive me nuts is that they make low rise jeans for GUYS too! It's ridiculous.

It's so difficult just finding a basic pair of jeans.

You are right, but even people who are a size 6 are having this problem. It is not just a 'plus sized' problem. I see girls who are a size 5 squeezing in to a size 1 or 3 and (of course) the result is muffintops. I can squeeeeeeze myself in to my old size 5 jeans. Doesn't mean I look good in them.

I looked on the O.N. website and all the plus size jeans were low -- not super low, but still too low.

My poor DD is in between sizes right now -- she's in XL kids' clothes 14/16, or the smallest juniors, and juniors clothes are way too mature for her. She's 10 and pretty tall and large for her age (already developing too fast).

I don't mind muffin tops as long as they are pumpkin

Much like spandex, low-rise jeans are a privilege and not a right.

Although, I'm with the people who say that's all you can find. I'm 29 years old. I'm nearly 6ft tall and I wear a size 12/14, which is considered "plus" size  . I'm getting more and more annoyed that the only pants I can find require a Brazilian wax.

Have any of you tried Bill Blass jeans?? They are awesomely comfy, not low-rise, and are affordable.

I actually like low rise because it is more comfortable not having it around my tummy. I got used to the feel of them when pregnant and started wearing the under the belly maternity unstead of the dreaded panel pants. However I am always pulling them up and need a belt. (I have been lossing weight so that actaully makes it harder.)

I have found jjill makes great pants (some low rise, some not) most in plus sizes and all in peite and tall. (but they won't be under $30) Lands end you can always find normal pants in every size. (and they hem them for you to the lengh you want.)

Marseeya I had the same problem with my niece. She is 14 now but I had to take her shopping in the adult section for a while. She started off in adult size 4 (instead of 14/16 kids) and now wears a 6 or 8 depending on the brand. The problem was it was hard to find the styles she liked. Not old lady cothes, but not the teen midrif style.

Oh and don't you love it when they make size 2t ulta low and the dipar is hanging out. What is the point of that? :rotfl2:

I just wish they'd quit making the stupid things altogether! You can't blame the people for having to wear them, because that's all you can find these days. Especially where I live, there aren't that many options in clothing stores.
Bite your tongue. I can finally find jeans that fit. I have a tiny waist and an "ample" bottom, so in the past to fit my butt and thighs meant I had to have a gaping waist. I don't have that problem anymore. Low rise jeans are the best thing EVER (at least for me).

I'm with Miss Jasmine...for those of with little waists and bigger hips, low rise jeans are a GOD send...for the first time in a LONG time I don't have a big gap in the back of my jeans..wanna talk about seeing undies??? <lol>

at the Pa Renn faire I saw a man in costume. When he sat down his very large stomach hung quite a bit lower then his shirt. It was hard not to look. I hope maybe he had a medical problem like a tumor or something.

Thank you for saying what I wanted to say, with far more tact than I could ever have managed. There are different strokes for different folks. *nod* There are those who don't appreciate what the op saw, and there are those who would have found it quite provocative. *shrug* to each his own.

Trust me, in my night job (which ends tonight*CRY!!!*) I've seen more skinny girls wearing things that you should never leave the house in than I ever thought I would. JEANS that you can see the top of the pubic mound in? WHO Createatd these.. hell, HOW are they comfortable to wear???? Talk about having to shave to wear them... *shudder*

And could someone please tell me when it became OK to let tweens dress sexy? When did 12 year olds suddenly start putting it out there???? *sigh* I'm crawling back under my rock. I swear when I have kids, Potato sacks, gosh dangit. :rolleyes1
